So found this little gem up on JBHIFI's website today. When you search for the item on their website it says $799 but one you click on it, it shows up as $399
A good time to buy one since this looks like a screw up on their end

    true but Harvey Norman, Microsoft & HP store have them for $799
    and if the thing blows up on you, you have somewhere local to take it back to and you dont have to f**k around with trying to get an american store to replace it plus you get the nice australian warranty

  Bought a lenovo for $199USD + $50 shipping over a year ago

  I bet the local stores have been price gouging suckers for a year now with the bullshit $799AUD price.

  TBH even $399 is too expensive for old technology better to just buy the US version of the newest Samsung headset.

  Don't buy the hp ones, they have a design fault. The display cable is proprietary and frays easily. They don't offer replacement cables and they tell you to buy a new head set. Look for reddit, I'm not the only one. Also you need to factor in a Bluetooth dongle for the controllers which eat battery like crazy!

  Jbhifi has had the headset at this price for months I think since july. I bought mine about 2 months ago and negotiated down $380 at two separate stores before buying. I was concerned about the lack of adjustable interpupillary distance the guy at the second store agreed to refund if I returned within a week if I wasn't satisfied with the devices ipd. This is the cheapest vr headset in Australia. I am very happy with this headset for the money the HTC vive is better but I like the inside out tracking is pretty accurate and more convent for setup.
