i reckon give it a go at a store where rep can process your request online, at my first attempt rep spoke to someone at testra to sign me up and they said this customer ported out yesterday and cannot signup this deal, so i tried a different store and at World square Sydney this guy processed everthing online and port in worked straigh away.
Welp I did it this afternoon - rep needed to refresh the program they use since it wasn't active yet weirdly. Went with the Mate 20 pro for the headphone jack. Seems pretty slick so far! Now I can finally join in the whinging about Telstra. Thanks mate.

Well I got the mate 20 and so far am very happy.
Just picked up this phone tonight. Completely blown away. What a phone.
Well I pulled the trigger on the P20 Pro. It might be the slower of the two but I really wanted something fully waterproof and the camera sounds fantastic.
So far so good. Feels like a solid build. Don't think you can go wrong with this deal, unless you're not keen on contracts. As I get older I find the 24 months just fly by, personally. :(

I am not sure but people misunderstood camera in p20 pro. It has 40mp main camera but it takes only 10mp photos.
It is 40 MP but it stitches 4 pixels into 1…most important is the sensor size which is 1/1.73 (7.76 x 5.82 mm) and is among the biggest in current crop of Flagships excluding Mate 20 Pro which has the same sensor.
This seems like a good deal, but Huawei don't let you unlock bootloader or root & No custom roms.
I am with voda on a 45 monthly plan, will gladly switch if it was some other phone, I mean Huawei is a good phone but locked bootloader is a deal breaker for me.
I am still on fence tho, do you guys think there will be better deals getting close to Christmas & New year?

I really like the 1+ 6T, but not available in stores here. I might have considered this deal if it was Pixel 3(not the xl), its in the same price range as the mate 20.

I still believe there will be better deals around boxing day…Optus hasn't come to the party yet in terms of phone plan deals and may just bring their best around that time.

P20 Pro came with a basic clear case, safe to assume the mate 20 does too.
They're really all you need to protect corners from drop damage.
Screen protectors haven't been necessary for many years with the screens phones have now in my opinion. your mileage may vary
Yup they do come in basic plastic case. Look up spigen mate 20 case. I hv it on my mate 9, saved my phone so many time. Doesn't look bad either, quite slim.
anyone got $100 gift card when signing $55 plan? The shop refused to give the $100 gift card.
You need to ask for the $100 giftcard and not take no for an answer. The promo code is HUAWEIPROM and nowhere on their info sheet that they have does it specify that the giftcard is for outright purchases only. I was told 'no' but I ask them to check again they came back and said I could have the giftcard after all.
If I go in store what is the promo code for?
When I signed up to the p20 deal I noticed on the computer screen it specified that the deal was NOT eligible for the giftcard so either the T&Cs have changed or you got lucky!
I went a head and signed up, Now i have myself a Mate 20 still in its original packaging to get rid of lol.

Has anyone else asked for the Mate 20 Pro? Everyone keeps talking about which is better between the P20 Pro and the Mate 20 but no-one has mentioned actually asking for the Mate 20 Pro. Before this limited special all 3 phones were available on the $65 plan for $0 handset price. Just ask and you should be able to get the $1599 Mate 20 Pro for $55 plus a $100 giftcard to boot!

I didn't pay $1599 for the Mate 20 Pro. I said I wanted the Mate 20 Pro, not the Mate 20 on the $55 plan and asked him how much I'd have to pay for the handset. He said $0, as both were free on the $55 plan. So I said thank you very much, I'll take the Mate 20 Pro AND the giftcard too!
