  • That is a crazy price for a 50" TV

Just make sure you get a Logitech remote, the remote it comes with is very limited.

      • +2

I just got one on Saturday. It comes with two remote controls; one which is 'very limited' and the other which has full functionality. I don't think you need a Logitech remote. I used the full functionality remote to set up the TV, and now I'm using the limited remote to operate it.

I got this TV to watch 4K content over the next one or two years, while the other premium 4K TVs keep getting better and come down in price. Then I'll move this TV to a spare room.

The TV design is simple, just like the limited remote control. The picture quality is adequate for my needs (my needs are quite basic), though I had to spend about twenty minutes toggling the settings to get it right. The interface is dated and needs a firmwire upgrade to moderise it, but I think I can live with that shortcoming. The big disappointment for me was the sound quality. It was extremely tinny and very poor, and it didn't matter what settings I had on it. Luckily I had a spare old sound system that I could hook up and now it sounds great.

Also, the TV is not a 'smart' TV which I think it great. I've read that cheap TVs (and even a lot of premium TVs) with smart features really struggle, so I intend to put my chromecast onto it and stream content that way. I'm not into voice controls yet.

My lounge room is medium in size and overall, I'm happy with this four hundred dollar purchase.

    • And it's a 4k TV! For that price it can barely get a 28" 4K monitor

Kogan had a 4k 50" with hdr for 389 with free delivery, I grabbed one

      • how is the kogan compare to Hisense below

        • +2

Hi couldn't tell you yet as I bought it Tuesday and still waiting on it to be delivered,I will keep you updated when I receive it, I will be able to compare as my brother as the hisense, I got to say the hisense is really good

          • +2

@hitman48: good that u have a hisense to compare with,

feel silly after i posted the question as u would not have the Hisense to compare

          • +1

@hitman48: Agreed, the Hisense feels premium.
The menus are well made too, nice and easy to use but lots of configurability if you need it.

            Picture quality is good.
Input lag is relatively low combining football mode and game mode. (Still not monitor level)

You and I both. Looking forward to seeing what it's capable of.

  • 350 for the animal Dyson v6 not the best buy, Dyson sold the v6 ultimate for 349 earlier this year on ebay

    • +3

How about we all pitch in and send you a cheque for $1.00

      • V6 comes in several models so V6 ultimate (as the top of the V6 range) would cost more than the v6 slim (bottom of the range) or v6 animal (better than slim but less accessories than ultimate).

      • Go look at the difference between the animal and the absolute. It was the same price as the animal which is roughly at least another 70$+ for the hard floor attachment. Don't be a smart ass

    • Have you got a link to that one?

Your store may have limited quantities. I.e less than 5.

Just as a note, I bought the 55" Bauhn at the last sale.
I've since returned it as the TV was randomly turning itself off (had already checked sleep timers, etc.), the Netflix and Youtube apps would crash, and the remote only intermittently worked.

Ended up buying the Hisense 55P6 in the Black Friday/Bing Lee sale for $70 more than the Bauhn and would never look back.

Were there many dramas returning it? I need a new TV now and could a long wait for more sales

      • We were in and out of ALDI in literally than 10min
They were super easy to deal with for refunds

I think first 60days includes change of mind returns, but don't quote me

    • So you're saying you go the 55P6 for $469? That's a crazy price. Currently $998 at Bing Lee.
Cheapest I can find elsewhere is $755.

      You sure about the model?

      • No, I was talking about the 55" Bauhn model, which was $579 when I got it.
Then returned it, and bought the Hisense 55P6 for $649.

At no point did I mention the 50" Bauhn, sorry for any confusion.
Was more giving an experience of that brand when it came to TVs.

        • Ah. Ok thanks.
The 50" Bauhn still looks pretty good at this price.

          • @stuckster: Personally, if it was an option, I'd say save up and buy a Hisense 50P6 on sale.
Such a big quality difference imo
