I bought one $2.25 in Boxhill today.
What's the SIM activate by expiry date. It's not close to it by any chance?. That's pretty much the only thing you've got to look out for the SIM card activate by date.
The one I bought expires on 01/11/2019.
Aren't they supposed to be a year from purchase , or wishful thinking?
Only 5GB according to this:

If you activate a prepaid starter pack before 4.2.2019 you get 10GB bonus…
https://www.optus.com.au/shop/mobilebroadband/prepaid?keywor…The bonus is 25GB. So, 30GB in total. That's what I received.

Anyone know if this is nationwide?
I thought all optus sims must be activated within 30 days of purchased?
Same as the earlier posted deal but further reduced:
https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/413583I recently posted this in the earlier thread but didn't get a reply so I am trying again here.
I picked up the $10 sim for just $1 in Officeworks but have found it's pretty useless as the minimum plan seems to be $30. Can anyone confirm whether that's the case and that I'd have to spend another $20 to get any use out of it?
It is not the case. Goto Optus prepaid page, navigate by sliding to $10 sim options for the different plans.
Thanks. I didn't spot the arrows for sliding. 5 days isn't very long but better than nothing.
More than 5 days with different plans. You need to look at every prepaid plans, one at a time.
@slowFTL: I don't see any where you can get more than 5 days for the $10 that I have purchased with the sim from Officeworks. Can you help me out if I am missing something? I don't want to spend more that the $10 that I have loaded. Thanks
@gizzard: Optus Daily Plus = $2 for 500mb 30 days expiry and Optus Long Expiry = 7cents per MB 45 days expiry.
These say mobile broadband. So it's not for smartphones?.
