  • Nice tool kit but it says special order and also to allow 7-10 days to be ready for pickup.

  • Same, cart price changes to $164.

Thanks mate.. will update OP as few are getting at $164 during checkout @ Bunnings.

      • Not sure why someone negged. One de-neggin comin up ….

  • +1

Have had this kit for at least five years. Picked it up for roughly this price. Well worth it at this price!

Another "special order" only item? Here we go again, everyone get ready to receive stock unavailable responses in 2-3 weeks time…

    • Yep. Although I got an e-mail from Bunnings offering to send a slightly different kit (better, apparently) from that deal a couple weeks back.

A different which may appeal amazon prime users 85 pc https://www.amazon.com.au/dp/B009EMKLD6?th=1 201 pc https://www.amazon.com.au/dp/B009EMKMCG

    • I can recommend the 201pc I purchased it from SCA for around $120 a few years ago. I primarily use it for servicing my cars and have been very happy with it.

  • Seems expensive for low quality toolset .. might as well buy the same thing made in china for less than half the price without the Stanley brand (which is now has a reputation for bad quality anyway).

    • +2

      Link to half price set?

    • +1

I wouldn't say they're bad quality. Definitely not sidchrome or snap-on level but the price reflects that. These are more than adequate for the home-mechanic or handy man.

      • +1

I've had mine for 7 years now with no issue. Even use it with an impact wrench. Well worth the money

      • Stanley Black & Decker are the parent company to sidchrome, so chances are they're the same thing…. all made in taiwan. You will also find that most of stanley's socket and spanner sets come with a lifetime warrenty just like sidchrome, kincrome. Snap-on's sockets, spanners, ratchets ect are VERY EXPENSIVE and also provide a lifetime warrenty. However, the reason why snap-on charge a premium is because they have a mobile truck in most areas and come to your workshop/site to replace the broken/faulty piece on the spot (not having to go to a store or send away to the manufacturer). I cannot justify snap-on price for home use unless you have plenty of $$$ to spare/waste.

Canberra stores it is 164 as well. Should be able to price beat supercheap then for extra 10% off?

  • +1

THANKS OP! perfect timing! was just googling how to service my own car to save a fortune!!!

  • +4

Nice! A decent metric set. Not sure why they keep bundling up useless (to 90% of consumers) SAE socket sets.

  • Anyone reckon this would be a good set to keep in the car???

    • -1

No. What would ever go wrong in a car that you could fix with just tools and no parts? I'd recommend an RACV/NRMA membership over tools in the car any day.

      • Why the neg? Seriously, in a modern car, under what circumstances would a toolkit ever be useful? You're going to work on a hot engine on the side of the road? Pfft, get the RACV to fix or tow. Please don't just neg, an explanation would be good.
