Bonus $200 EFTPOS Card with Samsung Galaxy Note 9 / S9 or S9+: Note9 128GB from $1488 @ JB Hi-Fi / Good Guys / Harvey Norman

150

Promo on at a few retailers possibly more. $200 gift card on purchase of selected Samsung handsets. Certainly not the cheapest deals that have been going but it's something for those looking to purchase outright at one of these retailers

Going through Ebay 20% is still cheaper if you want to wait for the deal comes up with Good Guys or Binglee.

  • Saw this yesterday as well for the Note 9 at JB

    • Note 9 128GB for $1499 - If you port your number to Telstra you get $500 off when you jump on the Telstra $65 plan per month (Unlimited calls and 80GB of data) You will get the $200 voucher post printing of the receipt

Works out to be: $106.63 if you don't include the $200 gift card as total cost and $98.29 if you do

    $200 gift card ends 24/12

    • I was wondering if this would stack with the $500 off that's not a bad deal if your looking to sign up to a plan anyway.

It's worth noting if you do take up that offer you still get an unbranded handset I'm told which is good. Not a carrier branded handset.

    • I had the same idea, so I popped in this morning. Turns out its no longer a $200 gift card, but rather, a $700 phone credit if you do the $65/month plan. It works out to be exactly the same, but you have to spend it off the phone.

It's still actually a good deal though. Under $100/month for 80GB of Data plus a nice phone.

      • Well that sounds pretty good.

      • In store promo only? Can't see anything on their website.

  • good deal if officeworks have this

Would be a good thing to get with credit card price protection as the $200 eftpos card wont factor into the "what you paid" portion e.g…

    1. Buy for $1400
    2. Receive $200 back (paid $1200)
    3. See a price drop to $1000 in a few months
    4. Claim $1400-$1000=$400 (paid $1200 - $400 = $800)
    5. Rinse and repeat 6 months later when it's only $750
    6. $1000-$750 = $250 (paid $800 - $250 = $550)

So $550 phone *assuming the price drops to $750 within 12 months :)

Even better if you've got cashback on the full $1400, claimed TRS on the full $1400, or can claim it as a salary sacrifice at $1400

    • How to salary sacrifice a phone ?

    • Would be good if there was any active AMEX cashback offers with a retailer selling these also. Would be a great stack

Edit: Scratch that unless your AMEX has price protection insurance

    • Do they do this with phones? Almost every of these flagship phones is guaranteed to have price slashed within a year.

    • Price protection usually excludes deals that are "offered as part of a special deal involving other items or benefits".

Wouldn't they reject the claim for deals that come with a gift card?

      • Will the gift card appear on the invoice?

    • Claim $1400-$1000=$400

      Minus the excess

Rinse and repeat 6 months later

Aren't most limited to 60 days, within a set distance of the original store, and probably only one claim during the period.

  • I'm I reading it correctly that JB and GG are instore giftcards but Hardly Normal is an efptos card so I can spend it anywhere right?
