These are very good price, especially for the Elite Active. Top rated mainstream true wireless earbuds in the market according to various reviews.

I think the elite active might be a deal but given Mastercard offered the standard elite at 40% discount (bringing it from $299.99 to $179.99) this isn't really a deal..but sadly this offer expired recently although the ad here shows 30th Nov 2018. here

    • Yes I'm aware of the non Active version for $179.99 for Mastercard but that is expiring on 30 Nov. For those without Mastercard, the price is not too bad. I personally prefer toe Active version as it's waterproof!

Officeworks now stock these headphones so you can price match Toby Deals to get the normal model for $182 and elite active for $217.55

    • Thanks for the update!

    • I went to Officeworks and tried to price match these last night. They wouldn't do it as the one's on tobydeals are a different colour.

      • i think officeworks hates us… where's their Christmas spirit??

      • oh thank you, I was wondering if that would be a problem for them. You saved me a trip. (Though I imagine it might be possible to get a worker who is more generous? idk)

Might be worth a try. I was thinking of trying a different store today. Catch.com.au have them in black for $209 so you could get them to beat this. Would be around $200. Still cheaper than anywhere else I can find.

          • @Matleck: has anyone gone?

            • @aussieaubs: I haven't tried again. At work and the Officeworks near me has no stock. May just settle for getting it matched to the catch.com.au price. Still a good deal.

  • Bought the active version last month from Qantas store for $209 plus 2000 Qantas points.

    • Quick review?

I just recently got them too. They are great, they somehow just seem to stick in the ear really well. I was worried they would keep falling out. I use them every day in the gym, even running on the treadmill they stay in. They do feel tight in the ear at times but I guess that’s how they stick in and it’s not a big deal to me.
Seem to be very good for telephone audio too. I was on a conference call the other day using them and nobody noticed :)
I do wish the buds were magnetically house in their case. Sometimes when I open them they drop out, but to be honest it doesn’t happen often.

        • I got the active I've had the opposite experience with calls. I find everyone i talk to complains there's way too much background noise. i wonder if i've done something in the settings or if you can dial down the background noise, but couldn't find settings for it in the android app. i feel like its almost using hearthrough mode in a call.
          any ideas?

      • I got the active version from HN a couple months ago for $199 with AMEX. the best purchase ever. I wear it for jogging and mountain trail riding. Never came loose, never dropped out, the battery lasts a long time (not 5hrs coz my mobile is BT4.0 only). In some reviews, people complained about the call quality but I don't have an issue with it. The best part is, it can use its microphone to pass the environment sound to ears, so it's safe to jog with it.

  • I bought the Elite Active 65 from HN using the AMEX offer and can definitely vouch for their quality. Best investment for my workouts! I did have to use my own ear pieces though, because their largest one was still loose for my ears.

Otherwise no complaints. Battery life is excellent.

    • Hi just wanted to ask, does it drop signal from time to time. My samaung iconx 2018 wireless earbuds sometimes drops signal, its annoying. so I'm thinking of getting new wireless earbuds.
my phone is using bluetooth v4.2 however… i know these wireless earbuds are using bluetooth v5.0 so might not be worth it? what do you think?

      • Mine drops sometimes depending on where i am

      • I noticed my left ear bud does drop out from time to time when I am near some electrical circuits behind the wall which is weird.

I have pixel 2 xl running bluetooth v5.0 with the occasional drop out, but overall I am happy with it.

        • haha yea because wireless signals are easily disrupted by radioactive waves. Almost every time I go near something radioactive such as a microwave or even water from a sprinkler (not sure why but even a sprinkler disrupts the signals), my earbuds has drop outs.
i guess thats just the limitations of wireless technology.

          thank you for your feedback!

i think I'll stick with my samsung iconx 2018 until the technology matures further.

          • @lalala6565: Mine actually works fine near a microwave. It tends to cut off at weird spots, but just the left ear bud.

  • Is Icon X my only real option for onboard storage, truly wireless headphones?
Don't want to have to run with a phone.

    • well, invest in good smart watch with storage, you get health monitor gps etc plus music, and without a phone.
then connect any tws to the watch.

      also, get xiaomi smart shoes.
      and other smart ones

I got the Elite Active from Harvey Normam with an Amex offer about a month back.

Quick review… they're fantastic. I use them everywhere now - bussing to and from work, at work, doing jobs around the house, on runs and at the gym (they fit in really well), and the battery life is excellent, especially with the case. The connectivity is really good too, never have any problems with losing connection.

I'm not an audiophile so can't comment on sound, but to me they sound pretty good.

Get extended warranty if you buy these from JB… If there are any issues years 2 and 3 it's a store credit refund for the original purchase amount so you can put the full $229 or $249 toward any earphones in a couple years when BT5 earphones are better.

    • any idea what the warranty covers??? maybe battery life??

  • Just a heads up the Elite Active (Copper Blue) are $226 on the JB Hifi commercial website (if you have access)

  • Says $259 now for active
