  5. A 2 for 1 Movie Pass valid for 6 months will be all yours!1 Allowing you to buy 2 movie tickets for the price of 1

People are saying that this isn't a deal… i realise it says $9.95 for the card, and there are fees… but i clicked the link that didnt say $9.95 start up, and i never got charged for it. Secondly, you have to deposit $20 onto the card, which costs you $21 because of the $1 fee… and then they send you ANOTHER card, which is the 2 for 1 movie card. You don't get monthly fees unless you opt for that, i chose to be charged $1 every time i recharge, which will be never.

In the end, it may only cost you $1, the most it may cost you is $10.95 if you get charged for the card, which is still cheaper then an $18 movie ticket… and once you use it twice, three times, the savings add up. If you goto the movies more than 2-3 times a year then this is a good deal.

I could have sworn it had been posted as well, but I can't seem to find it.

It's possible no-one has yet - and either way, this is a pretty awesome deal!

there's so many movie deals lately, who knows lol

I was interested until I read this:
"Card costs $9.95 to purchase with the choice of two fee options"

Whatever you save on the tickets is lost in the card fee… that's no good…

I received the card for $0…

If you for some reason do get charged the $10… big deal if you're a movie person, because you'll save $18 every time you go.. $10 card fee is still cheaper then $18 movie ticket.

  • Can we get two tickets for $5 and 10 Cinebuzz points?

Not really a deal. If you read the fine print the adult tickets are $18. The card has a range of fees, including monthly fees, alround not worth the ticket deal.

    • Yes not a real good deal unless you really need one (for some not so secure online purchase?)
There are too many better movie deals at the moment.

    • Adult tickets are always $18 at village and the likes… you don't have to use the master card to purchase the tickets. You sign up, for FREE. The card comes for FREE, and then you deposit $20 onto it, which costs you $21 because of $1 fee. And then once you've done that, you get ANOTHER card in the mail for 2 for 1 movie tickets. All up this deal costs you $1 fee. Because of course you will use the $20 you load on to the card, and then you never have to use again. There are no "monthly" fees unless you opt for that. I chose to be charged $1 whenever i recharge, which will be never. Therefore, i don't understand how its not a deal.

    • Where are you reading that?
The card has two fee options, $1 a month (or free if you load $500 onto it that month), or $1 each time you load money onto it.
      They are the only fees.

Looking at the terms and conditions it seems that the movie pass isn't just for single use. You can use it at most once per day for standard screenings (which excludes "no free list" screenings, after 5pm on Saturdays, Gold Class and Europa Cinemas, Movie Marathons and other special screenings) for up to 6 mths.

So if you and a friend are regular moviegoers, then this can be a good deal especially when movie prices are at their highest during the evenings and weekends. The current movie offers ($5 movies, family and friends etc) expire early April and there is no guarantee that they will pop up again after that.

You have to use the site above to purchase the movie vouchers and you cannot avoid the $2.50 booking fee. So you end up paying $20.50 for 2 movie vouchers. Then you have to wait for them to send the vouchers to you, which you can then use at the cinema in exchange for the tickets.
You may also have to purchase the movie vouchers with your Prepaid Mastercard as it asks for the first 6 digits. (Not completely sure about this)

Decent deal as long as you can choose whatever payment option you like. Hopefully someone can confirm this for me.

  • Other terms and conditions of note:
"..must be one of the first 10,000 people to apply for a Woolworths Everyday Money Reloadable Prepaid MasterCard"

"valid for repeat use for 6 months from the date of registration provided you register by 31 December 2011"

Full list of participating cinemas http://www.tlcrewards.com/woolworthsmovies/Uploads/16_Cinema…

"The movie vouchers are valid for use at standard cinema screenings only (which excludes “no free list” screenings, after 5pm on Saturdays, Gold Class and Europa Cinemas, Movie Marathons and other special screenings) at the cinema’s discretion."

"A surcharge may apply for Vmax theatre entry and 3D presentations"

"Please allow 5 to 7 days for receipt of the movie voucher. "

"Movie vouchers are valid for a minimum of three months and will not be extended or replaced upon expiry. "

    • excludes “no free list” screenings,
Most new popular movies are "no free list", By the time you wait a few weeks, the movie will be shown in smaller theater and you may just wait for the Blue rays/dvd to come out ..

  • Seems good

  • Crap deal

"Be one of the first 10,000 to apply from 21 February 2011 " <— already been a month now
"To purchase movie vouchers using your 2 for 1 Movie Pass you must go to www.everydaymoney.com.au/moviepass. Customers are required to purchase one movie voucher and pay the online booking fee. " <— hassle

  • Well… I've always purchased online, never had any sort of hassle though, $2.50 booking fee is still $15.50 cheaper. Some people are just to lazy and want everything for free..
