…well it's a good thing I still run old cars……coz I could take advantage of these cheap oils…. :D
Why would you even think of doing that?
cheapo i heard the oils were also similar just a bit more zinc or extra metals here and there
Could be true, I would not at all be surprised.
I thought new cars had to be serviced by licensed workshops to comply with warranty rules, and I think they need to use approved oils too within the manufacturers specs.
@ozhunter68: i spoke to a mechanic ages back and he went for like European cars they are bit sensitive but for the japs u can get away with cheap oil as long as it is with the w range.
from memory 10-50w is the viscosity at cold and hot temps
I had a look at the chemical sheets from Castrol barely any difference except freeze point between 10-30 and 10-50
you could, then at 50K you can blow a turbo or replace you main bearings and try again…or throw it away and buy a new car. Hello BMW M5.

Is the 15-50 oil any good? Or shell hx5 a better choice?
For the price its awesome. Castrol are finest oils on the market.
They also had $1 microfiber cloths near the register today. Picked one up for the velocity offer.
I ordered a roof platform in store recently, but haven't paid anything yet. I could split into 3 x $100+ lots and score $60 of vouchers, but I'm out of town this weekend. If I call and they put though payments over the phone that should count as 'in-store' right?
Spend $100 or more in store this weekend and receive a $20 bonus Gift Card!
