      You can buy a cartridge that lets you play emulators and backups on the system, zero modding required. But depends on the serial number or something of the system. The cart is called Xecuter SX Pro. It has a list of serial numbers of systems that it works with. Thankfully you can see the serial number of the system through a slot in the box. Might be worth buying one locally to see if you can get the right serial number. Although that nulls if you're ordering online. No doubt a new cartridge will come out in the future as they always do.

      Can confirm I bought mine 2 weeks ago from Gamesman eBay and the serial and FW was not patched (according to spread sheets). I updated to 6.20 and not soon after Atmosphere supported it too so I can still mod it now. I haven't actually loaded the bootloader to check though..

      My serial begins with XAW70026

      Edit: had another look it was patched lol anything above XAW70019 is patched

      I bought a Switch from Amazon during the Black Friday sales and it is moddable. Serial number is XAW70012xxxxxx if that helps.

          XAW7001790X and above not safe to buy, possibly patched
          XAW7003000X and above definitely patched

        Yeah agreed. Picked up some great deals from them lately (not just in sales). The sad thing is that they are playing the low/negative margin long game. Great for the consumer in the short-term but not the long-term when all the local stores shut down or no longer stock games due to not being able to compete. I guess either way we are heading to a digital only future anyway.

    Amazon is seriously insane! Not only do they match the eBay 10% off for popular products, they have a further 8% off via cashback. I thought they would have just kept the cashback as essentially a sitewide coupon, but no, they can go 1 better than that each time. They're killing it atm!

      I must admit Amazon have impressed me over the last few months, I find myself ordering more and more items through them due to their competitive pricing, as well as the free expedited shipping by being a Prime member. The Shopback cashback which has generally been around the 6-10% mark has been fantastic as well.

      Their prime shipping is amazing. I ordered the Gamesmen eBay switch which should be here by Thursday, but from Amazon I've bought three games over the weekend, two I've already received and got a message I'll receive the last one today.

      Also I bought something the other week and was told it would be delivered on Monday but got it Friday afternoon.

      Nothing but impressive as far as shipping goes.

          I think the ShopBack deal was 20% (capped at $50). Therefore you would have had to spend over $400 to get the $50. At that time the switch price was $389 I believe.

    I hesitated on the black friday deals and missed out so I just pulled the trigger on this deal. Scored an extra $20 on Cash Rewards for signing up and referring my wife's email, bringing it down to about $310 in the end. Can't complain with that!

    As in, when you get the cash back via cashrewards they give it on the price of the item prior to tax so in this case ($326)
    and then 326*0.12 = $39.12 cash back
    which means $359.1 - $39.12 = $319.98 (post - cash back)
