IT WILL BURN YOUR HOUSE DOWN!!?!?.

Ok, now that we have got that out of the way and nobody else has to mention it in this comment section.

These are great, I already own two and a 6 socket board.

Thank OP, great price. I shall buy another!

Now, WON'T SOMEBODY THINK OF THE CHILDREN!!?!?.

  • +4

That warning note won't do any good.

There'll be someone below shouting "RISK BURNING DOWN YOUR HOUSE !!! "

    • +4

Wait for the "THIS WILL VOID YOUR INSURANCE"….

      • +1

It will also BURN YOUR HOUSE DOWN.

        • +2

          And "YOUR NEIGHBOURS HOUSE!!!"

        • You didn't have to mention that!

      • Edit: not worth it

  • +1

Good price needed another, thanks OP.

    I want black one.

    • +4

You're looking in the wrong place.

    • +6

      thats what she said!

      • True, but after not washing it for several months so that it was black, it turns out she didn't really want a black one after all! Indecisive cow.

        • +1

It's not the colour that she was after!

  • Wonder if these will arrive before Christmas. Great stocking stuffer.

    • +2

Who do you hate so much you will literally give them something that will set fire to them and their loved ones?

      • +6

Ordered for the Mother in law and the weird guy across the street and the guy at school I hated.

      • The in-laws

      • +1

        Not sure if trolling or…

      • +2

Now that you put it like that - I've ordered five more.

I don't know about others, but mine cuts out at 1,600W, despite being rated 2,500W. If I run my (Xiaomi!) 1,600W hairdryer for more than 8 minutes, the safety kicks in and it turns itself off. Same running steamboats totalling ~1,600W. Anyone else have this problem?

    • +1

Have you checked to see how much power is actually being drawn?

      • Well, the Xiaomi hair dryer says 1600W max. And those steamboats added up together were around that much too.
So 'no', but that means either the Xiaomi hair dryer is lying or their powerstrip.

        • I had one that was loaded up with 2 x 950-1000W loads (two computers) for an extended period. It might be the type of load perhaps or maybe yours is a little too sensitive?

          • @Maverick-au: I think you may be right on both counts. Maybe if there is a heating element which kicks in with a bit of a spike (rather than an even 2kW load), it could trigger the over-sensitive safety.

          • @Maverick-au: The PSU rating and the actual consumption aren't related and can be drastically different.

            • @banana365: I think you missed the part where I said 2 X 950-1000w loads. The PSUs were drawing that much each for a total load of 1900-2000w continuous

    • +1

I am not sure if this is good news or not. It is entirely depending on how optimistic/pessimistic you are…

    • I haven't tried using them with a hairdryer but I did have a 2000w heater plugged in during the winter and had no issue.

      • Was the heater turned up to max? If you only have the heater at a low setting, it won't be drawing the full 2000 watts (just a suggestion).

    • +1

Are you sure you've genuine powerstrip? There are fake out there.

      • No idea. I got mine from Gearbest and it does appear genuine.

WARNING: Bunnings, BigW, KMART etc cheap no-name power boards carry the required Electrical Safety Certifications for Sale or Supply (and/or installation) in Australia BUT are DANGEROUS to use. Save a family this Christmas with XIAOMI.

    • Just check out the latest bunnings recall on their power boards
      https://www.bunnings.com.au/returns/recalls

      Click 4-outlet Powerboard Model #CLKPB4A

      What are the defects?
The plastic enclosure does not meet the flammability requirement of the applicable Australian Standard, meaning there is a risk of fire.

      • You only have to look at their own brand powerboards, heaters and fans to see that they are all utter rubbish and dangerous. But even with yearly recalls for heaters, fans and powerboards it is still profitable to keep importing the cheapest rubbish and handle the recalls and bad PR.

Meanwhile the Xiaomi is top quality and sells for half the price or less of the equivalent Bunnings product and people still complain that it's not certified and go around dobbing in Australian sellers.

The Moretti oil column heater from 2016 that catches fire on that page is also a Bunnings own brand.
The Click TV wall bracket that has plastic parts doing all the work that fails and drops the TV on you and is another Bunnings brand.
The Moretti fan heater that catches fire and shocks you is another Bunnings own brand.
The Moretti and Click oil column heater total recall for all stock sold in 2017, another Bunnings brand and a risk of the tanks rupturing and spraying you in hot scalding oil.

  • Is it 2A per USB port or 2A total shared amongst 3 ports?

  • +2

    Interface: USB2.0
Shouldn't that be USB-A? I hope this thing isn't transmitting data.

  • 1.8m cord length if anyone was wondering.

  • Serious question, there are lot of fake Xiaomi power strip in market. How do I know I'm not getting the fake one?

    • Serious question, there are a lot of fake klownvandamn in the market. How do I know you're not a fake one?

For a start Lightinthebox is a reputable supplier and second it's easy to tell a fake from the real one by comparing on YouTube or via websites that have done pulldowns etc.

  • Great deal - I picked up two. Thanks! (I got charged $13.53 with GST - I must've forgotten to uncheck the shipping insurance box. Take my OZB membership away - I don't deserve it)

  • Are these compatible with all overseas plugs?

  • i had one, but mine does not work for AUS 2 pin plug

    • -1

This is because you need to push something into the earth socket to allow the shutter to open. Unplug the powerboard and use a toothpick or similar.

  • +1

Showing as no more stock :(

    • Anyone seen these in other BF sales for similar price?

    • Try it again I just ordered 2

  • finished

  • If anyone has one of these can you measure the length for me. I want to see if it fits in the Ikea ROMMA cable management box which is 32cm in length internally.

    • +2
      • Thanks both :)

But then they are out of stock :(

    • +1

That was quick - all over! FWIW it's just over 22 cm, plus the hard sleeve where the cord joins requires ~ 2cm room..

      —lol..timing.

    • someone above mentioned 1.8m

  • What the hell does 'High power conversion rate up to 82 percent' mean?

    • +1

I think this is the same things as, "Super efficient maximum happy fun time!"

      • Electrical engineering is different in China!

  • Not out of stock for me - I just grabbed one :-)

    • Yeah back in stock but now $20

  • Anymore stock or the 6 socket version too?
