  • I haven't actually seen this in stock at Bunnings a lot recently, but their online catalogue is pretty good at communicating stock availability

I have this from Bunnings pricematched against the JB Hifi deal a while back, absolutely love it

  • hey do we need a subscription to keep it working to cloud?

    • +1

Yes, if you want to playback rings or motion alerts.

      • great!
can the app record in lieu of a subscription?

      • Motion alerts don't require a subscription. Live view is possible without subscription. Only when you want to record and save the video.

      • oh hang on, it's only AU$30 bucks a year for the convenience (basic plan)

    • +1

If you just want it to notify your phones etc and view the video live you don't need a subscription.
Great price at $99 I paid double that and happy.

  • Can these be an alternative of outdoor security cameras?

  • Is this the same as the Ring Doorbell 2?

    https://shop.ring.com/products/video-doorbell-2?utm_source=C…

    • No it's not

  • These look like they're really easy to steal? We living on a main street between shops and need a new door bell but this seems like it's too risky?

  • I'm getting the Ring doorbell 2 from Amazon for about $200.
Still struggling between this and 2, this is so much cheaper :(

    • Half price mate!

    • where do you see it for 200?? i cant find it on amazon

      • It's 263 on Amazon atm, I've got $15 credit with Amex and got the 20% cashback (Capped at $50) last night
that should bring it down to just below $200

  • Be aware, this model dosn't come with the separate doorbell ringer so it doesn't actually audibly ring at all when someone presses it. It just sends an alert to your phone, etc. The ringer can be bought separately. Pretty useless without the ringer IMO…

    • Yeah the bell chimes are sold separately.

    • has anyone tried to hardwire a cheap wireless door bell presser to the Ring?
I've been searching on the internet but couldn't find anyone done it

    • I don’t believe this version comes with a battery either. I figure the Ring Doorbell 2 would be a better option. Currently $263 on Amazon or $258 for an import from Kogan.

      • It does comes with a battery, I recharge my battery every 3 months or so depending on the usage. It's been 2 months since the last recharge and is on 59% atm

        • Actually, I believe you are right. The Ring does not come with a removable battery it is built in. The Ring 2 battery is removable for recharging.

Thanks just got this - there was a little delay as Bunnings have changed their model number but all fine in the end!

  • Just had Bunnings price beat the Good Guys Ring Doorbell 2 price.
Good Guys was down to $239, so ended up paying $215.10

  • Any good deals on the Ring Chimes?
