Digital edition is on sales in the eStore until the 29th $62.95(30%off) or $85.45 bundeled with the expansion which is a digital only add-on anyway.

Mario Odessy also for $53.30 (33% off).

    • I just got a switch… Mainly bought it for flights. Will Zelda fit on the built in storage and can you play digital only copies without a net connection?

You'll need a microSD if you want to fit more than 1 on board game.

Actually - that’s not really true.. sure having an SD card is worthwhile, probably needed and also very cheap now - but I have Mario Kart, Mario Odyssey, Splatoon 2 and Zelda, plus some indies on the internal memory. It’s not very much space, but it’s obviously not ‘1’ game.

From memory Zelda is around the 12-14GB mark, odyssey something like 5 or 6, splatoon I think was only 3 or something and Kart is around 7 ish. I would say you absolutely need an SD card, but not for 1 or two or even three decent games plus small ones.

Edit : updates to games will obviously take some space also of course.

          • @Mortal Krumpet: L.A. Noire is HUGE.
            13GB update.

            • @cwongtech: Yes, generally the first party Nintendo games are quite small (good compression?) but the third party games tend to be a lot bigger.. but that’s usually if they are multiplatform and not specifically developed for the Switch platform. e.g. Mario + Rabbids is small even though it’s third party, assumedly because it was developed for the system. But most ‘ports’ are huge.

              • @Mortal Krumpet: Mainly because Nintendo isn't big on voice acting, whereas other titles often have scripts longer than an average movie due to multiple dialogue paths through scenes etc.

      • No sure - I got a physical edition of Zelda and a 128GB card day one so I've never really tracked it. I'm temped to go digital and sell my physical game cartridge - certainly would if there was any discounted eStore prepaid cards going around .. that doesn't happen often enough for sure.

It' pretty cheap these days to grab a 200GB card (think i just saw one for $45 on Amazon but OZB has been littered with deals on those and larger lately).

        • 400G was/is $95

          • @Diji1: yeah I ordered the 400GB from Joybuy a week or two ago… could be a while for it to rock up though.

Mario + Rabbids Gold Edition just dropped to $39 too, on Amazon. Great price.

  • Brilliant game, if you're into Zelda it's all you really need for your Switch as it'll keep you busy for ages.

  • And Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is $60.

And Cashrewards is up to 12.5%!

  • JB Hi Fi said they will price match this.

    • You can get an additional 12.5% off through cashrewards though

      • This is true, but I want to play now!!!! haha. Also, I use shopback but it never seems to work for amazon. So I am not that fussed to miss out on the % back

        • Need to add to cart after activating cashback.

          • @Turffe: Yeah, that's how I did it. I've had multiple purchases not work and they are being investigated. Never had any issue with other sites.

  • this has to be the highest profit margin game of all time. not only has it sold like hotcakes, its never been on what i would consider a "sale" price, nor do i see ever it going on "sale" for 1-2 more years.

    • This is normal for most first party Nintendo games for a long time. They treat the value of their games different and there games have a long tail where most other games sell a majority of copies in the first few weeks

    • Since the switch came out they've been doing regular eshop discount sales, it's already been this price quite a few times.

  • how many upvoters actually didn't already have this game i would suggest about 10%

    • I think there’s a lot of new Switch owners here thanks to some of the deals on Friday.
