Because the price dropped between my purchase and the item actually being shipped, and they don't charge until its shipped. Like preorders as mentioned above.
A price change doesn't automatically change the terms of a transaction.
And yet that's exactly what the "Pre-Order Price Guarantee" is… I simply didn't know their price guarantee was only for preorders.

You're agreeing to buy something at the advertised price, and the vendor will ship it to you once payment is received. Amazon does let you cancel the order any time before the order has shipped though.

How long do they usually allow for cancellation? Right up until shipping is logged or is it a bit risky, ie it can vary and depend?
Once the product ships, the money is already on its way to a tax haven where it is no longer tracked by official means, so the money is literally 'p00f!'
