Any current users can provide their feedback?

    • +4

I got the 3 year plan for watching US Netflix, I can't complain and haven't had any issues.

Although I mostly use it for watching CW shows lately. Which doesn't actually need the subscription if you have the free 50GB.

      • Same, use for hulu, Netflix us and UK no issues. Got the 3 yr plan deal

        • Same. Just got 3 years and it stacked with the 1 year deal I bought last week, because it's so easy to use across PC, Android and iPad. (and it's great with Netflix) Now subbed until November 2022. Bargain. Thanks OP!

      • Quite new for me, but I signed up for Netflix AU, does the account work to access Netflix US?

        • +2

yep your Netflix account works in any region.

      • I believe the free 50GB doesn’t work with Netflix. How do you get around that?

    • Using the lifetime plan that I bought last year, been happy with them so far. Can't comment on the speeds though since my ISP sucks, I'm with MyRepublic.

    • been using windscribe for 2 years now. no problems. and super fast!

    • I got a lifetime deal for $30 at the start of the year. It's been pretty good, fast servers, with low ping. Netflix servers also work great.

  • +1

Great VPN. Windflix can't be beat.

  • +1

Ive used one promo that gives me 50gb each month and I can't say much negative. Connects good, download speeds are as good as my nbn50 provides and pretty happy. One aside is I've found it slow when using my iPhone vpn/windscribe so often just use it for the desktop

  • +1

I'm happy with them. Big improvement on PureVPN anyway. The kill switch actually works.

It's only the 5 Eyes thing that takes points off.

  • How is this vs NordVPN? I know Nord is big on security but $30/year is quite a bit…

    • +1

I was looking at a dark market yesterday, purely for research purposes, Your Honour, and one of the interesting things I noticed was some dude selling NordVPN lifetime subscriptions. I would NOT advise you to buy from him/her.

    • Same. I was hoping to get a Black Friday deal for NordVPN. But this deal seems too good to pass up.

Express VPN which gets a lot of recommendation is too costly for me.

  • Doh, paid about $80 for lifetime a couple of weeks ago

    • +4

I find it’s always worth an email in these situations, sometimes you get some money back if you’re nice enough. Tell them how much you love using their product and ask if there’s anything they can do as it’s only been a short while. See what happens.

  • Got the lifetime subscription from them. No issues so far!

  • is it actually good to get the lifetime subscription? I remember reading somewhere that the getflix lifetime subscription is utterly crap compare to a regular (yearly) subscription

    • How can that be? Do you get different levels of service?

      • I just read somewhere on whirlpool. It was mention a couple of times.

        • +3

          Yes I concur,

Getflix duped us into getting the lifetime subscription on special just before Netflix banned all the IPs, now the lifetime subscription for Getflix pretty much does not work with netflix etc but i just recently found out the normal getflix subscription still works, so basically the lifetime subscription IPs provided by getflix arent maintained or given low priority in fixing / changing to keep it working with Netflix while their standard ongoing subscription payment accounts seem to be maintained and ensured that netflix still works on them….

  • I'm not the most tech savvy person, so if someone could please advise me
Can I hook up this Windscribe thing through my desktop to chromecast US netflix onto my not so smart tv?
Or would I be restricted to watching on my desktop

Also I had the windscribe 50gig deal on the phone and I used it to skype (I went to visit a country where skype is blocked), and I could connect about 50% of the time.

( I do have the app on my desktop, which I got when the 50G deal was free, but haven't realized that I could use it to netflix, and can't wait the ten hours it would take for me to get home and figure it out)

Hope the full service is better

    • Can I hook up this Windscribe thing through my desktop to chromecast US netflix onto my not so smart tv?

yes. Or install the ios/android app, connect to Windflix US/UK, open netflix app & cast to CC

Also I had the windscribe 50gig deal on the phone and I used it to skype (I went to visit a country where skype is blocked), and I could connect about 50% of the time.

Pro subscription have more servers to choose from

      • Correct me if I'm wrong but you would have to use the VPN on a network level. So no you cant Chromecast from a phone or PC. You'd have to use the VPN on your home network.

        • Cannot watch US Netflix on my phone let alone cast it.
          Am using the 50gig deal

How is everyone getting Netflix to work
          Help please

          • @docians: U need the PRO subscription. Free doesn't have windflix

  • ATM me on 3 year plan. How do I avail the lifetime plan without paying the full price? Can I carry over my 3 year somehow to lifetime? Thanks.

    • purchase any of them & get the coupon & apply on your windscribe account. it will add up to your existing expiry date

      • +1

        Lifetime+3years

  • Can this be run on android tv boxes? Native app? I use PIA on my desktop and happy to keep using but its not the best for streaming unblocking.

    • +1

      Yes, Native app

    • Yes have been using for 1 year on MI box to connect to different servers and works flawless .Highly recommended

  • How / where do you put in the code? Keeps showing me 'complete order' with nowhere to enter code and price is $59?

    • on checkout just under the product there's a "Promo Code?" where you need to click to reveal the code area

      • Awesome, just found it. Purchased, many thanks.

  • The lifetime plan I purchased a couple months back is for 10 years. It works pretty well on iPhone.

    • +1

After 10 years, you can extend the offer for another 10 years at no extra cost.

  • +1

I bought the lifetime subscription during last years BF sale for the same price. My experience with it has been really good over this time and I can recommend it. Windflix works well too. They've now added a feature called R.O.B.E.R.T., which blocks various malware, ad and tracking domains at the DNS level. You need to customise your settings for this in your account via their web page. It's also worth noting that "lifetime" is 10 years, after which you need to extend the offer for another 10 years for free.

    • "Your Lifetime account will automatically renew at the end of the 10 year term at no cost if it's still active."
This was the response from Windscribe when I emailed them about it.

      • Excellent! When I bought mine, the Stacksocial ad stated "User must submit a support ticket at end of 10 year term to be awarded another 10 year term.". If they have changed those terms, that will be a bonus for me as I'm likely to forget.

  • Thanks OP, I got windscribe.
Without windscribe my d/l speed is ~ 20MBps over 4G but with VPN on it drops to 1MBps. AM I doing something wrong?

    • +1

Select the nearest VPN location to you.

      • +1

Also don't trust speedtest.net I've had that tell me my speed through the VPN is like max 7mbps down, but then I'll have torrents downloading at like 2+MBs fine.

      • +1

Thanks I will try that tonight, it automatically uses china or Romania.

  • +1

I've tried the free 10GB version of Windscribe and found it quite slow for loading pages and watching videos (especially YouTube). Has anyone used both the free and paid and compared the difference?

    • Would also like to know!

    • The paid version has way more connections available. This may be why yours is slow.

    • More people on the free plan, bandwidth is congested, that's why it is slow. Pro version unlocks more server, which means you can connect to a server which is not congested.

  • where to apply this coupon code ? i couldn't find the "use coupon here" box !!!

    • on checkout just under the product there's a "Promo Code?" where you need to click to reveal the code area

  • How do I get the referral bonus? Just create a new account right after clicking the link? Been waiting for this deal and $10 off would make it even sweeter

    • Click this link than you will see in the URL it says /r/xxxxx which means it'll recognise the referral bonus upon sign-up

      /r/ = referral
      xxx = the referral number

      • The link above will randomly generate a referral number from the Ozb database, this isn't my referral link.
      • Thanks, but when I click sign up, the url redirect to a normal one. Does it still remember the previous referral link?

        • +1

Yes, that is how it works. The URL keeps track of the referral, same as CashRewards.. the info is held in the URL, there is no special page or anything like that

          • @Xiaomi: If I have a current account if I create a new one with the referral do you get $10 off the current purchase or further purchases?

  • Got 3 year subscription, thanks

  • I have subscribed to this VPN two years ago when there's a deal on the 1 year subscription, they offered me a similar deal on 1 year again even though the first deal wasn't from them.

They are really good, you can use it on most devices, even phone through their app as well as router settings.

They recently introduced a new system which is a built-in as blocker and has different levels of filtering system.

  • Anyone know if this works in China? Have only been successful with Express VPN in the past.

    • +1

      in China

Do you mean, you're inside of China and wish to use it to browse uncensored, or do you mean you want to connect to a China Server?

      • I mean i am in China and wish to get around the great wall of China.

        • I don't see why you can't, there is no server in China (obviously). Have you used a VPN before?

          • @Xiaomi: Of course. But if ypu have never been to China then you are probably not aware of the amount of censorship of the internet and the difficulty with acessing even basic stuff like google, facebook, viber, messenger, etc. I have tryed a few VPNs but only had success with Express VPN and even then with regular issues.

    • +1

I'm in China right now. It does work but you have to stuff around a bit.

Works better with the Strongswan rather than the actual Windscribe app https://windscribe.com/guides/manual_android#strongswan

You need premium and link directly to Taiwan servers. There's a guide on Reddit

  • Has it got India Servers as I would like to watch some India based content.

    • Yes, 15 Indian servers online according to Location Status

      • +1

Yes it has and connects very well so that i can watch content on Hotstar and SonyLiv

  • +2

Is it safe to use Australian server for torrent? I'm not confident with this. :(

    • Not an expert, but I see red warning lights going on when I close my eyes

  • Thanks Op, purchased it. Cheaper than the PIA option…

  • @Xiaomi There is a cross against P2P for India servers as per the website

  • Anyone have experience using Windscribe on the India server for NBA? Currently with PIA and watching NBA via the app on the iPhone is pretty bad.

    • NBA is too fast this year.

    • +1

I use Windscribe to watch NBA on my iPhone via the Indian servers and the speed is not bad.. getting roughly 59MBPS on the speed test.
What I normally do though is connect to the Indian server > Open the NBA app > turn off VPN and let it stream without the VPN.

      • Thanks for the tip.

  • A lifetime ago I had Webvan, eToys and Pets.com shares.

  • How are the download speeds from Australian servers? I’m able to max out my 100Mbps connection on PIA.

    • +1

Not sure for 100Mbps. Mine is Max out for 50Mbps.

  • I have followed the link, but where can I put in the code BFSAVE40? Nothing is showing in the initial choice, the checkout or at the payment. I must be missing something obvious.

StackSocial is offering the lifetime deal but that's not available on the Windscribe site? Just a bit confused here.

    • +1

on checkout just under the product there's a "Promo Code?" where you need to click to reveal the code area

      • Thanks for that :)

  • Is this like the Getflix lifetime subscription

    • this is a VPN. nothing to do with Getflix

    • +1

I'm guessing you mean how the lifetime subscription was essentially worthless as Getflix neutered the features of it shortly thereafter

  • Ordered.

First PAID VPN.. thanks OP - I think it's worth the $20 for 3 years!

  • Does anyone know if there are any connection speed differences between the lifetime and year subscriptions?

  • i bought this deal and downloaded their android app. connected to a US server and tried to cast netflix to my android tv. it didnt work. when i press play on netflix mobile app, tv screen jst flash and nothing happen. if i disconnect VPN it worked.

even without casting, netflix app did show me US movies like black panther ,but it did not play. what i am i doing wrong?

  • +1

Since free Cyber Ghost final ceased today this is also my first paid VPN. It took a while to connect to the servers in the first instance, now it's running stable and fast, thanks for posting.

  • What do you guys think about the VPNSecure deal? Lifetime for US$12 (around AUD$16.6) after the code.

    https://stacksocial.com/sales/vpnsecure-lifetime-subscriptio…

  • Thanks op

  • Anyone else getting an "unexpected error" message when trying to play an episode when using Windflix? This is my first paid VPN so I'm clueless :(
