whats reviews on fossil smart watches and their compatibility with android?
I current have the Fossil Explorist Gen 4, love it so far, easy to setup and a abundance of apps, its a steal at this price
Good deal. Had the Gen 4 Explorist for about a month now, must say it's a bit laggy every now and then, would really benefit from the newer Snapdragon like the Sport has. Battery life is pretty good, using GPS and stuff kills it fairly quick but quick charge is handy and I could get a day and a half of normal use out of it. Other than that, it's a good watch, would recommend for $300 for sure, probably pick up the Q Venture for the wife.
I did the exact same thing haha, picked up the Venture for the fiance, should come tuesday she will love it!
also I noticed turning off the Ok google assitance sped the watch up alot
Tap the Settings Cog.
Then, choose personalization. From there, select “Turn OK Google Detection Off.”
Is it possible to assign one of the physical side buttons to launch the voice assistant?
It's factory assigned to the large middle one, just have to hold it down.
Check watch deals at catch.com.au for better Q Venture prices.
They are Gen 3 at $279, $210 on theiconic

Gen 4 big additions are:
Apart from eSim, they're pretty feature complete.
I ordered gen4 explorist 45 mm. $329 and planning the TRS as well .It is steal price. Thanks OP.
Can anyone confirm on the gen 4 battery life i have heard of battery drainage issue on this model?
I easily get a day out of mine, work 12-13 hours so it's probably on my wrist for up to 18 hours some days and it's always got lots left in the tank. Only seen it drain quickly when using the GPS, would need a top up charge throughout the day if tracking a run and then wearing it all day.
Sound good to me
Does this come with a proper Aus warranty?
I would assume so its purchased from an Australian retailer
Yeah. If you look at your billing page, it is actually going directly through Fossil AU. Iconic is just putting orders through to them.
Anybody who has the Gen 4 Explorist can confirm they can control google smart home devices from their watch? For example "Hey google, turn on the light" I have the Gen 3 and it doesn't work. Fossil support is useless, they don't even know how their product works!
Did you add the device for home control devices thru google assistant? In theory it should work, but it should also work with the Gen 3.
Good deal considering Fossil perpetually exclude Gen 4 from their own sales.
Fossil also has it now- with code: BF30
Anyone know if the bands are available to purchase online in Aus? Can't seem to find the same variety here that the US store has.
I'm looking at buying either the stainless steel or brown leather Gen 4 but can't seem to find either band online in the Aus store.
Shame Fossil AU doesn't have the new Sport range.
