A bit of a niche item, so I thought I'd give a heads up with its own post.

Yes, Chuck Taylors are cheaper but if you've been looking for high-end lifting shoes like I have, you won't get much better than this.

Cashrewards came back instantly @ $21.69 which makes them $202.31

Free delivery and free "no questions asked" returns.

I wear a US10 in Nike Free, Janoski and Air and these fit true to size.

This is part of Click Frenzy deals for 2018

  • Good find! Thanks Op

I think for 3 shoes that is excellent Value.
Only decision is to get a left or right.

Some of the reviews of these note poor build quality which is a real shame at such a high price.

I bought a pair of do-win like custom WL shoes from AWF - though they do look like clown shoes - $99 + shipping

    • Yes I read those too regarding a weak tongue.

I decided to go ahead as I'm happy to pursue my rights under consumer law with regards to quality and fitness for purpose (and Nike are pretty good with refunds etc…)

  • just curious…which particular excercise this shoe aimmed to help? Squat? Can I go on a treadmill with this?

    • I'm curious too. I've been lifting for years and not really felt the need for dedicated shoes, though I do notice the difference between various sneakers with different innersole padding. Some lifts are better done barefooted.

At higher squat weights, you don't want a wobbly ankle. Apart from the solid heel, it also holds the ankles well and distribute some traction to the whole foot rather than just the heel.

Overall, not required for BB buy you wouldn't see a power lifter squat at a meet without one.

mostly Olympic-style weightlifting including snatch & clean and jerk.

…but most people just buy them to squat as the slightly high heel on these helps people with poor ankle mobility.

      • Ah cool. I have great ankle mobility, it's never been an issue for me. My knees in the other hand…

    • This is absolutely not a shoe you can run in. The bottom of this shoe is hard inflexible plastic, designed to give an rock solid base for deadlifting, squatting and olympic lifting.

  • They are also designed to have little cushioning. The idea is normal sneakers compact during a squat, deadlift etc. Meaning you lose power when pushing into the ground. That is why you see people doing them with no shoes or wearing older converse's which is smarter as they don't need to spend $300 on a shoe that does the same as basic standard shoes do.

  • Close to buying.. But i think nike will have a better deal for black friday

  • An alternative is Reebok Legacy Lifters. 15% off Reebok Australia on signup, free shipping and returns. Works out to be ~$175.

I haven't used the Romoleos but I have not been Oly lifting all that long so I probably wouldn't know the difference.

  • Got the previous version about 3-4 years ago. Still looks almost new with 4-5 days of use per week.

These are good for squats and chuck taylors are good for deadlifts.

  • I have Adidas Adipowers, which is very similar to this shoe. Makes squats so much easier/ safer for us tall lanky folk.
