    Fire detection feature

I'm just trying to imagine how many homes will get broken into by people holding matches to these locks…

    • The fire detection feature is more for alerting you to fires inside the house. It will set off an alarm if the temperature inside your home rises significantly above normal levels.

      • Isn't that what a smoke alarm does already?

        • 2 is better than 1

        • Yes, and we would hope you would continue to use your smoke alarm! :) This is just another way to alert you, but wouldn't replace the need for smoke alarms.

  • how does this compare to the Samsung door lock?

    • Although the keylesskey locks are budget models compared to Samsung (we also sell many Samsung models), these particular locks do have features that some of the Samsung deadbolts lack, such as Bluetooth connectivity for use with phones.

  • I want to get this but want to know, is it meet the Australia Fire Door lock Regulation? I need to prove it to my apartment strata. Hard to find smart door lock that meets the regulation….
    https://www.theaustralian.com.au/business/technology/hitech-…

    • We don't recommend these particular models for use in apartments as they will not pass the requirements by your strata company. We instead recommend mortise locks, and in particular our push pull range for this purpose.

      • Thanks for the reply. Is the Samsung one has fire resistant certificate? so i can send to strata?

        • Send our support team an email and we'll be able to discuss the details. Thanks :)

  • Can't find any review online. Can anyone suggest it?

  • Had to remove my Schlage century lock due to strata fire inspection saying it was not a self closing latch. Going back to keys is painful.

  • What happens if the power goes out?

    • You can always use a traditional physical key even if the batteries die. Typically the batteries will last for at least 12 months under normal usage, and the lock will alert you before the batteries run low so you don't forget to change them.

      • Are they easy to replace or do you have to call someone in?

        • The batteries are easily replaced by popping the inside cover off. We classify this as a DIY lock, meaning installation and maintenance is simple enough for most people, but we also offer support over the phone and email with our engineers if you ever run into any issues. Our contact page has our phone number if you ever need to contact us.

          • @DDLAustralia: KL100B what Android app does it use? I called support and they don't know. The reason I need to know because these look identical to the 'Kevo' locks and those locks are only compatible with a handful of Android devices.
Also does this have auto lock feature?

            • @gimme: Hi! The android app is available here :) - I'll make sure support is informed also. I don't have detailed info about compatibility, however we have tested it in the office with a couple of phones (Pixel 2, Samsung etc) and they have all worked.

edit: Oops. Wrong link. I've updated it to the correct one.

              • @DDLAustralia: Thanks I grabbed one. Hopefully it works ok. It's a bit of a gamble as it looks like an imitation of Kevo with no reviews. As long as it works as described I'm happy. Not looking for a super secure lock. It's a deterrent anyway. Someone can easily kick the door in if they really wanted to

    • Oops, I replied to your other post with a link to the app.

  • Installed this the other day (KL100B) and it's better than expected for the price. The Android app doesn't look very polished but it works so can't complain. Overall pretty good buy. The simple uncluttered outdoor look with no keypad etc is a nice feature.
