OzBargain Christmas Secret Santa 2018 (AU $10 Spend)

In the spirit of Christmas was wondering if ppl would be interested to set up a secret santa among the OzBargain community, as with previous years? It could involve sending cards and/or gifts of a certain value depending on interest.

UPDATE: Vote in the poll below to indicate that you are interested in the OzBargain Secret Santa this year. Here is the timeline:

  • 16 Nov: Poll starts. If you are interested in participating, vote YES I am in!
  • 23 Nov: Poll closes, and I will send all participants a form to fill in delivery details
  • 26 Nov: I will message everyone delivery detail of another random individual. Start shopping!

Do note that delivery from overseas merchants might take a while especially low value items, so your gift might/might not arrive before Christmas. We'll also stick to AU $10 maximum spend on gifts.

Update 19 Dec: The original system message containing the delivery information gets deleted automatically after 7 days. So if you still have not posted the secret santa gift, please message scotty to request for the info.

    Was thinking a secret santa with under $2 value would be cool. Affordable for all. Like the zapals deals for 50 cents etc. Something like this, as a surprise random gift in mail.

    part of me want to do it because gift giving is fun and part of me doesn't because I might get a pile of crap from some tightarse. I'm conflicted.

      Sure that's fine, the $10 limit was so ppl don't feel obliged to gift an expensive gift as it's the thought that counts. If you rather send a card I'm sure ppl would appreciate the effort you put into making it (I know I would for sure!)

    Any rules so far?
    I would say it has to be brand new.
    If the person wants to give more than $10 worth then it's their option.
    Postage is the only problem I think. As depending on the size it could cost more than the gift.

    92 OzBargainers will participate in this year's OzBargain Secret Santa. I have sent out all the messages to ask you to fill in your delivery address. Fill in before 26 November and the detail will be passed onto a random participant.

    Note:

    • "Name" is not necessary, if you want to stay a bit more anonymous. Otherwise your username will be used.
    • If you do not wish to participate any more, do not fill in the form. You then won't be picked on 26th.

    if only 37 out of 92 filled out the form after saying they would participate then 1/3 of the 32 will fail to send a gift too…

    I am sure I will be one of those 12 who will receive nothing. Good thing it was just a 10.00 spend.

          I believe the $10.00 limit was more of a suggestion not written in stone so you do it your way. I myself can afford to spend 10. on a gift and pay for postage too and do not mind doing so. But please feel free to spend 20+ if your up for it, LOL.
