Just tried, only works for inactives. As soon as you log in to buy, if you have an active one it changes to $10.95 :(.

As long as one of your accounts has an active subscription, GamePass can be shared on the same XB1/S/X. I would also expect a similar deal for XBLive Gold soon.

It appears to be for any user without active Game Pass subscription currently. One of my accounts had GamePass previously and it is letting me buy it for $1.
The bit I am unsure is whether it also includes the 1 extra month if you leave auto-renew on (which probably only applies to users never done that before).
Haha. My $2 for 2 months of game pass recently expired now I can get $1 for 1 month. I almost feel bad for whoever pays full price for this service.
Well, considered the other OZB deals posted (MasterCard one, Sign up reward for Microsoft rewards - both give you stackable codes), there are more people benefited from good OZB deals.
I still have some free codes from past deals, but I might buy the $1 before it expires and save the stackable ones for later.

Looks like new users only is being enforced. You need to create a new account. After the purchase, login to XB1/S/X with that new account and the Game Pass subscription should be usable by other accounts logged in to the same console.
Unclear whether it will offer the new account additional 1 month by keeping auto-renew on initially.
Our GP has expired, but when I log into Microsoft account, the price changes from $1 to $10.95.

When OP posted it initially, Microsoft didn't enforce the new user rule. However, it appears that Microsoft now checks and only offers this to accounts which have never had Game Pass subscription before.
Need to create a new account in order to get Game Pass for $1. Then, sign in to your XB1/S/X with that account once. After that, sign in with your main account. My main account doesn't have Game Pass, but my secondary one has it (had a voucher that's limited to new user only). Still can access Game Pass games on my main account.

No you don't. Apparently any account that has had gamepass before will not get this offer, that includes the trial.
Worked fine for me. Have had Gamepass for several months. Only ended recently. This deal worked fine for me.
Oh that's because they changed it for black friday. Before you weren't able to.
I was able to purchase for $1 on my existing inactive account. No extra month though. $2 for a month of live and game pass works for me.
