So they don't have to put it in the bin? Some places require it so you're not taking someone else's.
If you purchase something, they are legally required to give you the receipt - taking it back is a lawsuit waiting to happen.
Unless your maccas is different the number and receipts are separate here.
@Clear: Literally never had a separate receipt from order number at Maccas, and I've been to dozens (mostly in NSW).

I was at maccas last week and the counter girl semi-aggressively asked for it back when I got my meal. odd. shrug
I generally do it to
A) Confirm that the order number they called out is mine.
B) Get rid of the receipt.

$5 is the magic number that companies pursue for hard to refuse meals ( food and drink / combo) , eg subway 6” and drink, HJ stunner, etc.
$5 for a small mac meal is great value. i believe there is also a small meal chicken option that hides in the loose change menu.i remember years ago mc donald’s handed out “ lunch diner cards” which get you a small mac meal for $5 per meal for 12 mths if you showed card. wish they wou,d bring that back.
small mc oz meal finishes next mth i believe so time to find a new $5 meal for brunch.

Yep was the cheeseburger meal + cheeseburger. Got it t/a and didn't realise until I got home that both the damn cheeseburgers had no patties in them. I don't eat maccas very much, and guess it's staying that way.
maybe they got your order mixed up with a vegetarians, seriously though i knew someone who used to order the cheeseburger with no meat patty, i guess they weren't vegan though
Ordered 2 of the $1 hamburgers the other night. Got given a triple cheeseburger and a quadruple cheeseburger. Was sickening to look at. Managed to salvage 2 hamburgers with a bit of cheese.
Has anyone found a way to order more than 1 with the app? Have tried a few hack sites but there doesn't appear to be anything specifically relevant that relates to Aussie Maccas.

You can refresh the barcode and use the deal on multiple kiosk at once.
You just have to make sure you pay for all the kiosks within couple of seconds.
It seems to takes around 5 seconds for the system to refresh once a deal has been used already.

I just walked up the self service terminal and pressed scan barcode. Then Manually enter number 9537. Finish the order paid 5 bucks. Picked up from counter.
BTW. the code is 9537 for every day specials anyway. No app required.

I used the code this evening, on two different kiosk machines, and it worked on both occasions. So we got two meals using the same code.Yeah, I was going to say, this is the code they put in for me. I put in my code and it seemed to work, then it kicked me out of my order and I couldn't get it back. I tried the code again, no go. That's the code the girl put in to make it work.
Not the app as a mobile order, but you can tell the drive thru the generic code of 9535 (for this deal atleast), or use that in the kiosk
Only problem with these app deals is you can't seem to customise the burgers beyond getting them toasted. I usually up the pickles to max, have a bit more sauce/mustard etc. for free via the app. Anyone else discovered a way around this???

Yeah, I suppose so. I normally prepay on the app, but I guess I could just scan at a kiosk and ask them when paying.

It's only a duplicate if it's in the title of the original deal. This isn't in the title, same with the $1 large sundae deal which also wasn't unpublished. The items in the title like $2 Big Mac & 8 Nuggets $24 were unpublished as duplicates.

What got me thinking is that the guy inputted it into the system, and it came up as $11 for this meal usually.
They're definitely not gonna be making a loss on this sale for $5, so let's say they break even at $5… they're still making $6 profit each time someone is ordering this!!
