  • Just wondering where it says it was $95? My local has had this for a couple weeks but they just got it standard priced at $75, no special tag on it

    • $75 at BWS too at the moment. $75 is about the right price in my opinion when other 15 year old blended Scotch is often available from $55 (Dimple) to $65 (Dewars).

  • I find it so weird how under-rated cognac and other brandies are in Aus.
A nice scotch is good too, don't get me wrong. But a good cognac is the ultimate liquor.
Yet I've never met anyone else my age who appreciates it.
    At least in Aus…
    So weird!

    • +1

I'm more of a muscat/port guy if I'm not drinking scotch. most of my scotch were barreled in wine/port/muscat too

    • @dickmojo
      Recommendations please :)

    • I'd say it is a more subjective thing. I don't mind good cognac once or twice a year if more for variety sake, but am somewhat opposite to you in that I prefer a good scotch.
Certainly Chivas' is a favourite in my case. Thankfully I imbibe much less than I used to (the hangovers aren't worth it IMO). The sad irony is that along with so many others, as I've gotten older I am more able to discern the 'good the bad and the ugly' of such drinks. Naturally and typically this means I have to shell out more $$$ for the 'good stuff'.
Cheap Scotch that I may have 'enjoyed' when younger tastes pretty awful to me these days! But I'm curious, as 'ddd' asked… what have you found to be a good/better Cognac?
might pick one up sometime in the future. I'd expect it will be somewhat like a good Scotch… money talks.
