Really wish these "deals" were titled "4 days full trial" or something similar, I got click-baited into thinking they actually went F2P…

Pretty sure it is about 70gb, so it will take most of that time to download it!

Pffffft only takes an hour and half for me!
Who doesn't have 100mbit fibre these days? Where do you live? A major metropolitan city? lol

      :(((

Average internet speed is 25Mbit placing us behind many third world countries. We are ranked 55th globally which makes us a laughing stock.

After claiming that Labour's 42 billion dollar NBN plan was an enormous ripoff, Malcom Turnbull spent 98 billion dollars buying infrastructure from Optus and Telstra that literally didn't work so it had to be replaced to become part of the NBN. Telstra was chosen to replace the infrastructure they just sold to NBN. He did this instead of installing fibre which would have provided better service. During this period where Turnbull spent 98 billion dollars Australia dropped 2 places in global speed rankings.

So to sum up Turnbull spent 98 billion dollars enriching Telstra and Optus instead of installing fibre which has to happen at some point in the future. The government has known that fibre is what's needed since 1989 when it's own report concluded that Australia needed fibre before anyone knew what the internet was.

Ideologically driven madmen will insist that this is the private sector doing things efficiently and they'll continue to vote for the Liberal and Labour Parties that are carrying out this massive wealth transfer from poor (that's you and me) to rich. Hell, Liberals will probably get in next election even based on history.

      • Urban fringe dwellers, arise!

      • the government decided to give $120M so free fibre connection to australia to pacific neighbours , so i’m stuck on optus coax , and when nbn comes it will be telstra coax ….

  • is this an online game?

You can play it online and offline. You will need the steam client.
That said, playing it solo makes the game feel empty and having another tribe mate along for the ride will make things easier to do (eg taming dinosaurs).

I don't endorse the official players, you will last two days before your base and all progress gets wiped.
Try the modded servers for a better and less punishing experience. I would advise a 10x server (eg if a dinosaur took 5 hours to keep knocked out to tame it will only take like 50 mins for it to tame).

      • Thanks very much:)

      • Is the game worth the effort?

        • What effort?
If you don't like it, you can quit playing I guess.

@baldur: Should have been clearer, in terms of Mooman's comments RE, bothering with servers etc

        • yes if you are into survival games and dinosaurs ….
