Known Issues of Honda Odyssey
Comments
It has some issues with the Sirens.
pretty annoying
MY 2018, only two models currently available( VTi-L and VTi) both have same engine. Vti-L got more security features.
55 issues :)
Every car model has a bad apple, 55 issues out of how many cars they sold? And issues could be related to old model.
The only issue I know of about this model is that people post super vague questions about it in online forums.
i have the VTiL, only problem I've found is that its quite underpowered, IMO it would have been better as a V6. Also, as the car is quite long, reversing into spots at shopping centres can be problem as the boot can be quite hard to open. Would have been better if it had the 1/2 tailgate open thing
Then go front in?
You want too much from a cheap city bus.
1/2 tailgates weigh a lot more and apart from impacting economy, w that overhang from the rear wheels, it would upset handling- worse than adding a tow bar does.
Apart form not having enough room in the engine bay, a V6 would require heavier powertrain for handling the torque and torsion. The whole body would be heavier to handle that, so it end up a different car- more of a lumbering monster like a Kia Carnival, a lower longer, heavier Tarago… etc.
It causes you to become boring
They aren't free that's a problem
Known issue - looks like a minivan/people mover.
If you have kids, an Odyssey is a god send and with the way people park nowadays (park between the 2 lines on the damned road!), You'll wonder how you never used sliding doors before
I prefer Batmobile doors.
It won't float on water like a VW Beetle.
https://youtu.be/YmH8LeaY980?t=35It’s too new to have any common issues.
The older models look like a hearse.
Every Vehicle have pros and cons , we cannot find real issues in online reviews, seems like Reviews are biased. i personally feel that Odyssey is Good but best value for money is Carnival, Compare Power, Overall features , Warranty and service, market etc.
It makes you give up on life
Ive got one and I don’t believe there are any known issues, only annoyances. They would be:
- Underpowered compared to a petrol SUV. Similar power as driving a diesel SUV/dual cab.
- VTi model has tether points on roof in rear, not on the back of the seat or floor.
- Entertainment system uses Mirrorlink, not Android Auto/Carplay
- VTi model doesn’t have latest safety tech (collision avoidance, cross traffic alerts, radar cruise, etc) only the VTiL model
- Service intervals are short (6 month/10,000 klms)For us though those annoyances were only minor, compared with how good the vehicle is. I would say it has a better bang-for-your-buck than the Carnival, and better than most other SUVs. Its also the only Honda currently available here that is made-in-Japan.
To be honest the Carnival has better features and doesn’t have the annoyances above, but they are a very large vehicle and should be in a different class (almost a mid-size van versus full-size van). Its like comparing a Toyota Rav4 to a Kluger and arguing that the Rav4 is too crampt.
What year/engine/trim level?
