Gerni 1885psi Classic 130.3 PDX High Pressure Cleaner - $199 (Was $349) @ Bunnings

550

I am absolutely gutted, I bought the lesser package of this (130.3 PC) for $299 just 2 weeks ago. The Mrs was in my ear about cleaning the driveway & patio else she would hire someone to do it… feeling quite bitter right now.

This pressure washer offers sufficient power to handle many cleaning tasks around the house and garden. Higher pressure and water flow give you the better performance of compact cleaning machines.

The Classic 130.3 Series comes with hose hook for quick storage of the hose. Together with a compact design it makes it very easy to stow away when not in use.

1885 PSI max pressure
Metal pump for high durability
8m high pressure hose
Hose hook for quick storage of hose
Choice of Tornado PR (pressure regulation) or Powerspeed (high impact) nozzles
Click&Clean connectivity for accessories

That is the one I bought because the Mrs was impatient.

The PDX version usually costs $349 and has a "NEW Power Patio Cleaner", which I assume is more powerful that the version I bought.

      • +1

Take it back and say you are not happy with the performance. They will definitely take it back

        • +7

You don't even need to lie.

Especially when it's for a more than valid reason. (ie. bought product for a certain price only to find the higher end model has been discounted below the price you paid for the other one + within short time frame.)

We have a really customer-focused/generous returns policy so the people at the returns desk genuinely appreciate it if you just tell them the truth as we hear every possible excuse from the generic to the far-fetched. When you say something like "not happy with the performance" or imply it isn't working as it should, you are ending up making someone waste their time to actually test a perfectly-fine item. With an item like a pressure washer, it would usually involve marking the product as defective and potentially even sending it back to the supplier themselves.

Also not sure if I need to check the associated box as I do work there but don't exactly have any major influences on deals you'll see on OzB.

Hehe it's a trick these Mrs have learnt, if they want something done, they simply threaten to call in a tradie… Works everytime.

    • I got another one end of July still sitting in box not used it yet and was only $199 down from 349 and now listed as 299 was best model down from the one listed on here at the time could not see me paying 150 more just for a better patio head. Now it's down to the price I got the other one with smaller patio cleaner, I wonder if they take it back and do a swap as its same item just one listed compared to mine has the better patio cleaner.

  • Not many stock.
This seems to be an old package. The new one with same 1885psi (different code) is $299 now.

    • Nope. The 130.3 PC is a different package without the patio cleaner. This is the PDX (better) version.

  • buy one for 199, return later with 299 receipt!

    • I am still thinking about how I can get away with that given that they are different models, with different barcodes and I have already registered the serial number for the free extended warranty (2 year contractual, plus 3 year added bonus for registering).

      • my bad misread different models

        • I am genuinely thinking about how, if you have any ideas :)

          • @Master Bates: As someone said above, return the old one with old receipt citing poor performance.

If that fails - you'll get a decent price on Gumtree once this sale is extinct.

  • +7

Return wife as well so that your username will check out.

    • Newer cheaper models now available, they should take her back, no issue

  • Would a quick connect foam cannon fit into this?

    • Gerni branded or aftermarket?

Not all Gerni attachments will work with all Gerni machines, so best to check their website. Aftermarket should if it comes with a Gerni "Click&Clean" adapter.

      • I have a non Greni quick connect foam cannon purchased from ebay.

  • 5.8-8.7L/m. Not fantastic but usable.

I'm told by those that know more than me about these, that 10-12L/m is a good flow rate for proper cleaning.

    • Depends what you need it for. This model is in the Classic range for occasional consumer use, Gerni also have a Super range for more regular consumer use, however neither the Classic or Super ranges are warrantied for professional use.

If you want power, I read you should go petrol.

    • +1

I won't be using it professionally, I just don't want it to take me an age to wash my driveway.

    • +2

Sounds high to me from my research IIRC. But I'm not well informed, all I know is even for $50 the ozito was a waste of time, unless I want to spend 200 hours doing my driveway to only be able to improve it to "less dirty but still meh"

  • +1

I'd been considering getting the Stihl RE109 as it comes with. a patio cleaner.. Now I'm undecided, any opinions

    https://www.stihl.com.au/STIHL-Products/High-Pressure-Cleane…

    • +1

Well if it were chainsaws then maybe you'd pay extra for Stihl. pressure washers aren't their core business though, so that means they just get someone else to rebadge stuff. The Specs on the Stihl are a bit on the low side also at MAX 6.3L/m and 145 to 1600psi.

I got a long time out of my Gerni and never bothered to store it in the shed though it was undercover. infrequent use but lasted longer than Karcher. Karcher sucks big time unless you spend crazy bucks.

    • Go look at the reviews for Stihl…. I will be buying a Stihl, just not sure what model yet, would like the RE 129 PLUS more so for the hose reel but will most likely get the RE 119

  • +3

Holy, Thanks OP, just went down to the local Bunnings and got it for $140.

    • $140!? which Bunnings did you go to? if you dont mind me asking :)

        • +1

That is a great price. Does anyone know if Bunnings stores will match a cheaper price at another Bunnings store? I bought one last night at Oxley Bunnings for $199.

          • @shanesimmo: I just checked with store in Melbourne, they don't do price match for ckearance stock, correct me if this is not the case.

            • @UAT: Thanks. Called Bunnings Oxley and got the same response.

    • +1

No stock left at x road

      • +2

Last night when i left they only had 2 left 😞

        • Thanks for letting me know. Was going to go after work!

I bought the 130.3PC ($299) last weekend and opened it but didn't use. Browsed Bunnings website last night and saw the new 130.3PDX ($199). I returned the 130.3PC this morning to get the 130.3PDX.

I can confirm the differences between the two are 130.3PDX has a larger patio cleaner and an additional drain & tube cleaner accessory. Hope this helps.

    • So you have the 299 model and opened the box but never used and swapped for other model with better patio cleaner?
How long did you have the 299 model for?
I got the 299 model for 199 back in july around 27th and not even used it yet.
Was thinking of doing the same take mine back and swap for other but that was 3 months ago i purchased im not sure they would swap after this time opened or not?
At the time the 299 model i got was on a deal as the model the guy told me inbetween was recalled so it was that or this one listed which was way more.
Im lead to believe my 299 model and this listed are same just my 299 model is smaller patio head and has no drain thing but everything i believe is same.
Just curious after 3 monthd of owning it unopened if they swap?

      • I had my $299 model for only 3 days before swapping it for the model with better patio cleaner and got $100 credit back from Bunnings.
If you haven't use it, no harm trying to return it.

        • Well can't fault them had mine 3 months still sealed in box and went and asked to swap and not a problem so very happy with that, seeing my $299 model in store I got for $199 emonths ago did not feel right swapping, but this was $349 where as other is $299. So me having paid $199 it was just a clean swap, there is lack of info on the site but I know it's same model and am I right same extras but with swapping I gained a drain hose and better patio cleaner.
I'm glad I had not used it yet as this might not have been possible.
When buying the $299 model back then for $199 I so wanted the $349 as the patio cleaner was way better and alone sells for $99.
But just could not pay an extra $149 at the time to have a better patio cleaner and drain hose.

  • Tempted to buy one to see if it works better than my Karcher

  • Wondering if someone who has this (or similar) can tell me if this will clean my driveway properly? It has several years worth of dirt build up (mostly from gum trees) and I need something that will do the job in a reasonable amount of time and effort.

    • +2

My previous house had stains on the driveway from gumtree sap and leaves (brown murky shitty looking driveway)

I used 2 x 5L of acid bought at bunnings, mixed with water (remember acid to water not water to acid) and pour from a watering can onto the area, left it to sit for 5 minutes then scrub with a broom before hosing it off.

It came out a million times better! not perfect but my karcher couldn't get the stains out.

Remember to wear rubber gloves long pants/sleeves safety glasses and a respirator.

      • I didn't think of that, it sounds very promising especially considering that you had the same gumtree effect going on ("brown murky shitty looking driveway" sounds exactly like what I'm dealing with!).

Can you tell me the specific name/type of acid you are refering to please, because I'm not familiar with it but I was heading to Bunnings soon anyway so I can check if they have it. Thanks for the info on how to use it, sounds very straight forward.

BTW, in regards to your Karcher pressure cleaner, what power/pressure did it have? Was it a strong one?

Thanks again, this will be great if it works, especially if I don't have to buy a pressure washer.

  • Tried the two Bunnings closest to me and it’s sold out

  • Have been putting off the yearly job of blasting all of the driveway because the crappy ozito one i have is soo terrible. This seems like a good upgrade.

Edit: Actually i see there is a Ryobi 2000psi for $119, would that not be better?

    • It doesn't mention what kind of pump it uses, so I'm guessing it's plastic. Plastic pumps tend to fail more than the metal pumps used in this Gerni washer.

  • 3 or 4 left at Wollongong Bunnings just now

  • Plenty of stock left at Bunnings Nunawading

    • Are they $199 or $140 at Nunawading?

  • 199$

    • Thanks. Still a bargain.

  • The 1590psi smaller one as listed few post back is $99 at Bunnings Nunawading

  • Can I use this to clean bat shit off concrete ?

  • Anyone can help, dose this including deck kit?

  • Think I picked up the last one at Northland. Best to call and check stock.

  • Can recommend this washer, have a similar version (same output, different accessories) I bought on clearance a year ago and it's held up well with everything I've thrown at it.

For anyone planning to use this to foam the car, just don't bother with the included "foam sprayer" attachment and get a proper brass foam lance.

Only issue is the hose winder handle has cracked after some hard use and doesn't hold up to turning the spool anymore - not sure if Bunnings would cover this as technically it was user error + flimsy design and the model I bought is no longer sold :(

    • +1

yeah, just wondering how you are meant to put the hose on the reel.
the picture guide leaves much to be desired

      • I brought one and it is to store the hose only. Not spool it out as required. Need to disconnect from Gerri before winding up. Basically all or nothing!

      • Really?? I spent too long trying to figure it out and searching through the internet…
I picked up the last one in store which was only a display so without a manual I thought something was missing but the mechanic of the spool just didn't make sense…… So why is there even a handle????
I can't be the only one really frustrated with this design??

        • You use the handle to wind it up after you have finished and disconnected one end from the Gerni.
The reasoning is such that to have it spoiling out without disconnecting you need to have a rotating pressure joint. Have a look at a hose reel and you’ll see what I mean.

          • @Filbert: yeah that is what i figured.
I ended up finding the middle of the hose, wrapping that around using the side toggles and then winding up the rest of the hose.
            Not a great design

  • Thanks OP, Just called my local and theyre holding one for me so I can grab it when I get off work tonight - cheerin as it saves me going and borrowing from the in laws!!

  • Called notting hill store to hold the last one and picked up just now. Pretty happy, now I can start decking cleaning.

    • +1

      That was you!!!!

Managed to get one from Keysborough store instead. The 20 minute drive had me constantly debating if I really needed one, which was "No", but logic has no place when there is a bargain. I now have a shiny clean car.

  • 3 left in Mornington at 5.30pm

  • Searched a few stores in villawood, rydalmere, north parra and blacktown. All out… :(

  • Just picked up the last one at North Lakes QLD after finding none left at Carseldine

  • Checked Nunawading, Bayswater, Croydon, Eltham and got the last one at Mill Park.
    Tragic OzBargainer here.

  • Checked Nunawading, Bayswater, Croydon, Eltham and got the last one at Mill Park.
    Tragic OzBargainer here.

  • Just got butt (profanity) by a kid at Carseldine after I rang up to to one on hold 'yeah mate, found one for you - come right in, I've put your name on it!'.
Got there to find out they only had the 125.5 ffs. 🤬

  • Just picked one from carrum downs Bunnings. They had only one more left at that time.

  • Picked up one from newly opens Northmead Bunnings and they have more than 5 left. Good luck 👍

  • Got the display model with all of the parts for $150, it was the last one at Kingsgrove. Checked Rockdale and Kirrawee, all out. Apparently 3 left at the Alexandria store.

  • None at Toombul or Carseldine

  • Got one thanks OP been wanting to replace my smaller unhealthy karcher for a while now .

    • How old was your Karcher and what model?

Interested to know because the Bunnings rep was trying to convince me the latest Karchers are better than the Gernis.

      • +1

2.180, I had one, pump stopped working, replaced under warranty, 2nd one burnt out with smoke etc, binned. the one I have now looses pressure sometimes after 10 mins and gets really hot leading up to when this happens. The first two lasted around a year each, the current one a little longer as limited use.

They convinced me of the same thing at the time, “space age plastic, no corrosion” etc etc. now they say as strong as steel, but at what tempreture is the issue…..

I wanted to try something different and at this price I couldn’t find a karcher with these specs, so that tipped me over the edge (nearest was 300 ish, 370 with the same accessories). To be honest if it was a karcher at this price with the new 5 year warranty I would have had another crack. If it was still a year warranty would have bought a gerni.

I’m hesitant to say karchers are bad as I know people who have had them last a while, but I’m yet to have any luck!

        Hope that helps

  • Is this model not listed on the website? Can't seem to find it.

    • +1

Highly likely to have sold out everywhere, so no longer listed on the Bunnings website.

With that said, you might get lucky if you can be bothered to ring around.

      • Thanks, realised the offer was a little old after I posted. I'll make a few calls and see if I can find one.
