Cheap Trampolines at Toys 'R' Us - 12 Foot Diameter for $299.99, Til Sunday

290

I just got back from Northland, with my @299.99 purchase of a 12 foot diameter Action brand trampoline, including parental comfort safety screen, which we all know is so you can't quite see the exact pained look on your child's face when they sprain their back, or hyperextend their knee.

It's going to be used as a bribe for them to keep their bloody room tidy.

Also, I won't let them ask friends around unless they get more helpful around the house.

I'm also thinking of making them mow the lawn each weekend before they can "have a go". Sure, they're 4 and 6 years old, but they have to learn a work ethic while they're still young.

So - cheap 12 foot (3.6m) diameter trampoline, complete with safety enclosure.

Also, I received an email today saying they have some smaller ones on special too, but can't remember prices/sizes, but if you're interested in the smaller ones, I obviously love my kids more than you coz I got them the big one!!

(just kidding, everyone)

  • hehehehehe

  • What you only got them the 12 footer, shame on you.

The 14' is showing up at $299 here..
    http://www.toysrus.com.au/shop/product/action-4-2m-14ft-encl…

EDIT: Actually is says "Please note, this item is an enclosure only. The trampoline is sold separately."
Damn, does your mini tramp come with the enclosure? Its saying sold out online for the 12".

yep - this one has the enclosure as well as the actual trampoline

But it looks like it's some kind of netting, that you can actually see quite well.

So maybe I'll have to buy some tarp or some other blockout material so I can't see them get injured.

      • I make mine wear masks. It's a win for everybody.

        • +2

          I've seen your kids.

          I agree !!

    • I have just finished setting up the 12 foot one. It's freaking huge! The only way I'll consider a 14 footer would be if I feed my kids too much and they become little fatties and "need the room"

lol i thought this was another justin bieber deal

    • +3

if it was I would have been all over it

      • +3

It would be an interesting science experiment: "Does Justin Beiber's hair move when he jumps on a trampoline?"…

Also, "How awesome would it be to make Justin Bieber mow your lawn before you let him get on the trampoline to see if his hair moves?"

(And yes, dear Beliebers, I know he got a haircut recently. That still doesn't change the fact he's a git.)

    • +10

hey - can I neg someone for simply mentioning the name Justin Bieber?

      • +3

if you do let me know, i wanna do it as well

    • My little girl is crying because this deal is not about Justin Bieber :(

      • +1

I am really happy that I'm not getting a lot of these Justin Bieber references.

        And I don't care !!

  • I don't think I have the insurance for this

    OMG Tramapoline. Trabopoline!

  • i really like the smaller $99 ones. My little one is only 2 and on her own. Should be good for her. Are the enclosures any good or cheap material.

    • +2

they're pretty cheap but will do the job, until the sun damages them, or they get wet, or unless someone touches them.

Just kidding - they look great (I'm talking about what I got with the 12'er)

  • My trampolines springs sometimes pop out when you jump on it, about 5 springs are missing and all I hear is a loud bang, see a bit of dust floating and never see the spring again.

Comfort innovations has a sale on one of the 12 foot trampolines ATM, about $100 more but the quality is more reliable than toyrus

    • Just asking. What makes you say their trampolines are of better quality. Am i paying $100 more for reliability or are they REALLY reliable. Do you have one of these?

      • +1

All the cheap chinese ones (incl action, jumparama) are pretty much crap. The loops that connect the mat to the springs, and the safety pads will all disintergrate in the sun within a year or two. It's cheaper to buy a complete new tramp than to replace them.

    • Thanks for pointing this out. I cannot comment on the quality of either, but I can say that comfort innovations one with a safety/privacy screen is another $100 again, topping out to over $500 for a 3.6m tramapoline

  • I have got an Action trampoline (the 10 inchs I think) that my kids grandma bought for them from Dealsdirect.I have to say it is pretty good (although still new) and my kides love it (2 and 4).

It says that max weight is 100Kg and although I am heavier than that I still have a go but not full on as you can feel the thing is not designed for me.

Also we got some spare of nearly all the items that might get broken or lost. So we did get spare springs and some other spare stuff that I cannot remember. I have to say it is also pretty safe up to now (abotu 1 month old).

Also Action seems to be an australian company so getting warranty and spare parts should not be a big hassle. If I get 2-4 years out of this with this price I am happy.

Good deal by the way, I would have got the extra 2" if I have seen this.

    k.

      OK Dammit

      That's what she said

  • I got the $299 12ft from Toys R Us too. Haven't set it up set, but thought it was a good deal.

  • They are a good trampoline but beware that the nets, padding & mat are not UV PROTECTED. This means that they will only last a few years as the padding and nets will perish from sun damage (even in Melbourne).
THey are fine if you only want a trampoline for a few years. No good if you are buying for toddlers and want it to last >3 years.

I'm going to ring up the appropriate Phillipino call centre on Monday and ask what price they charge for replacement pads/net etc.

Hopefully I get the same call centre that handles my TRU Energy and Optus accounts, and I'll try and sort them out as well.

      Wish me luck.

  • K-mart has a 12' trampoline for $249. At least they have in in now and then.
    http://shop.kmart.com.au/product/12-foot-trampoline-and-meta…

It has a steel hoop in the top of the safety net, so looks a lot better than other nets that sag.

Toys-r-us normal prices are very high compared to kmart & bigw.
And if this one has only a 100kg rating, I'd be concerned.

    • You forgot to mention this KMart one has LED lights built into it, in its "FLASH ZONE"

What the hell that means, I don't know, but once they start including LEDs on something, you just KNOW it's high quality !!

PS - I can't remember exactly, but I think my new Toys R Us one has a rating of either 120kg or 150kg

      • Ha - its just a clip-on gimmick. Mine only stayed on for the first week.
