First post, please be gentle.

Picked up pole pruner for $129 this afternoon, rushed back home and managed to chop down the overhanging branches from my neighbour's trees. HAPPY!!!

Ozito Power X Change 18V Pole Pruner Kit, product website is still showing $179 https://www.bunnings.com.au/ozito-power-x-change-18v-pole-pr…

well done…hope you threw the branches back.

Yay! No overhanging branches and now enjoying bright moon and stars from my room!

  • I've been needing one. Thanks.

Father in law had one that had the trimmer blade rust to buggery and seize up in no time. So I'm a little hesitant still. But, 5 year warranty..

The hedge trimmer? Yeah pretty much all hardened steel will rust over time, especially if it is not cleaned or put away wet after use. At the very least, give it a quick spray with WD40 or similar while running the blades to ensure good coverage.

      • Putting the plastic cover on whilst dry isn't enough?

I'm at changi airport plan to get one in Brisbane tomorrow.

What turkey put a negative for my post obviously a non traveler. Anyway buy the pole hedge trimmer kit for $129 and for $49 get the pole saw pruner attachment.

  • Does the pruner kit have a self lubricating chain?

    • Yes, it has an oiler as per a typical chainsaw.

    • +1

And it leaks like a mofo. It'll empty itself onto whatever its sitting on (unless my dad in law has a faulty one)

      • +1

Yeah, that can happen to the best of them though… my $1000+ Husqvarna Chainsaw leaks its chain oil a fair bit too.

        • I mean when is just sitting there, not when it's running. Leave it too long (couple hours?) and it'll be empty. Not sure if you mean the same

          • +2

@justtoreply: Yep, that's exactly what I mean. My Husky Chainsaw doesn't leak when running but will slowly drain out oil when stored. Easily (mostly) avoided by emptying the tank after each use but there will still be a bit of oil left in the line so best to store it wrapped in rags or paper etc.

  • Hedge trimmer looks on special but not the pruner, will check instore.

Picked up the aldi pruner and hedger kit for 99 but needed to get the battery and charger for 145 odd. Looks pretty much the same and not used it yet, may look if i can get this instead for the convenience of the warranty and already have ozito batteries and charger.

Roughly the same yes, but one difference is the Ozito pruner head can rotate 90 degrees, so it can cut horizontally or vertically through a branch or trunk. The Aldi pruner doesn't rotate and can only make vertical cuts.

As I said above buy the hedge trimmer kit for 129 and add the pruner attachment for 49

    • Yeah, i like it!!! Good work

  • Are the hedgers any good?? Does anyone have one?

I got ryobi tools but the 36v skin is $290.

  • isn't the aldi hedger/pruner combo kit better value?

  • +2

I just did exactly that. Store manager kicked up a big fuss as the in-store price is still $179 and not $129. I kept shoving the website into his face until he gave up. Thanks

  • Needed a pole trimmer for high reach and for $178.00 I got pole hedge trimmer and pruner attachment. In store price for the pole trimmer kit was $179.00 but fortunately I had a printout and we all got online with our phones and confirmed the $129.00 price.

Now debating with myself whether I should have gone Ryobi for the better attachment range and cheap readily available generic batteries. Con is that you can't buy a snap on head like the Ozito for a pruner/chainsaw and of course you pay more. I will leave the Ozito gear boxed for the moment but I will probably keep it as I have most of the 18V Milwaukee tools I need for non garden work.

  • Thanks for sharing the deal.

  • Thanks! Still at this price from Mile End SA store. On one of their promotional pallettes not on shelves.
