There is currently a thread on Whirlpool about how many competitions people have won. Some remarkable results on there.
Off the top of my head, I recall winning a slab of beer once. Pepsi Max had a competition that was related to the movie Narnia (free Ipods, computers). Ended up winning a free pass to see Narnia, which went straight to the bin.
So I pose the question to OzBargainers, how many competitions have you won?
Hm, these are the ones off the top of my head.
iPad, netbook, double movie passes x5-6, $350 photoshoot voucher (that I couldn't use :( ), $25 Grill'd voucher, $250 iTunes voucher, OzBargain random prize winner back in the days and a few other random things.
Had an amazing year last year in terms of prizes. Nothing major this year. :(

I've won tickets to the Chili Peppers, tickets to INXS…heaps of movie passes (esp thank to Virgin Mobile, lol)…a $200 textbook rebate…can't think what else.
A few years ago at one of the leagues clubs in Sydney I won a chance to go in their tornado machine (not really sure what they call them) where they have all these $$ written on bits of paper. When they switch on the machine you have to try and grab all the paper swirling around. Problem was though, I was about 3rd in line for a go and although I managed to grab $180, I'd already spent exactly $180 hanging around the club waiting for my turn! Damn those pokies, lol.
haha pokies can be your best friend and worst enemy sometimes! i have been quite lucky on them myself only play them a few times a year but i think im about 2k ahead still :P.

I've only won 2 things before, but they've been pretty good prizes:
- Ipod Shuffle from Optus "Recharge and win" competitions. Usually you get crap like 100mb of data (on a phone without internet) on in my parents' case free texts (seeing as they probably send ~2 a year)
- Xbox 4GB with Kinect from a raffle for QLD floods, didn't even enter because of the prize, I was going to just give a donation lol
We were trying to get a Ford Focus (I think it was the top-of-the-line turbo model) a few years ago in a radio competition that was going on for about a week, that my mum knew the answer to, but we couldn't get on the line :(

Won Philips shaver once in a free lottery, but couldn't get it as I lost my ticket.
I enter the RMH home lottery every year (not cheap to enter!) and haven't even had a sniff of anything not even one of the really low level prizes.
Another hospital tried the same thing a few years back but the uptake was pretty low and therefore boosted the chances of winning for all existing ticket holders. I won a telly!
Oh I once won a competition that was a chocolate bar promo. Prize was an adventure day out. Turns out that the printers of the winning wrappers printed too many and instead of distributing them evenly they just stuffed them all in one batch of boxes.
Some of these boxes ended up with a vending machine company - a local school unknowingly had a box put in their machine (which was emptied in 5 mins once the word was out). I realised that work used the same vending company an that the machine had been filled that morning. 10 first prize wins later I was on a sugar high from all the choccy. Gave most to work mates though.
Company actually honoured the promo and gave a choice of the actual day out or $500 (omg I gave away all that cash but hey it wasn't mine to start with and we all just went on the day out and had a blast).
