Yowie Chocolate - $2 @ The Reject Shop

120

I work at The Reject Shop and noticed these were down to $2 today. Were previously $3.50, but do not know when the price changed as I only get one shift a week and am not fully up to date with these things as a result.

Also can't find them on our website, nor do I have a picture. But I did see them! Hopefully someone could update this with a pic if they find one

  • can anyone comment on the expiry date on these?

    • An expiration date or expiry date is a previously determined date after which something should no longer be used, either by operation of law or by exceeding the anticipated shelf life for perishable goods.

Thanks for the valuable input there Oxford.

You buying yowies for the chocolate??? Hilarious.

  • +4

I hope you get some more shifts soon.

It's been like this for half our roster for like 2 years lol

I don't know what I'm doing there still to be honest

  • What are these. Do they have toys inside? Haven't had them in 20 years.

    • Yes they are still the same as they were in 1998

    • +2

That is outrageously unfair and you provided absolutely no evidence. Associated OP is not selling anything. The Reject Shop often sell grey imports which are certainly not fakes. I gained a Store Fan badge for my The Reject Shop deals nearly 2 years ago.

Legally we cannot sell fakes, obviously.

In the 4 years I've worked there, we've had one dodgy product come in and was immediately picked up and destroyed before it hit the store shelves. That was in 2014.

Everything else is real, but may be imported

Keep posting deals. Mind you, with chocolate it's useful to know weight, country of origin and use-by date whenever possible.

Well I don’t know, for me it’s simple, I purchase item in this fake store and I purchase same item in normal store.
The items taste/smell/look different. The one from reject shop is worse in every aspect. And it’s with many products like that. Therefore it is a proof for me that this shop sells fakes.

    Example:
Regardless of the price: if I go and buy a bag in original LV store and then go and buy the same LV bag from some bazaar store. Is it still the same item even though it’s quality and look is worse? No it’s not, it’s a fake product. Same with reject shop.

But you know different people, different opinions. This is only my opinion after buying from them and I want to share it with others as a warning.

But your opinion isn't an opinion. It's seemingly misguided thought as you've grouped the reject shop with other "cheap" shops.

I can't stress enough that nothing we sell is fake. It's all real products and we pride ourselves on that as a company. The reason they're cheaper is because the certain lines may not have sold well at major retailers or we import them from overseas or we just buy in bulk and keep the price as low as possible (like our $1 Mars Bars).

I purchase item in this fake store

I think you will find that they are genuine stores.

It is not likely to be a Banksy style project.

    • if I go and buy a bag in original LV store and then go and buy the same LV bag from some bazaar store. Is it still the same item …

Your analogy fails because everybody knows you cannot buy new authentic Louis Vuitton products in a bazaar store.

Please ban this user and his associated shop they are selling fakes

Why should Member Ninternet be banned? Associated OP is selling nothing.

The Reject Shop have 340 stores and would face a colossal fine if they sold fake goods.

      • Yeah nah it’s all good but in the end those products are not 100% what they should be, and anyone can easily prove it by comparing same products from reject shop and normal shop. That’s all there is to it. But hey the price is low so you get what you pay for.

        • Well I don’t know

          That …

          Yeah nah it’s all good

          … and that …

Please ban this user and his associated shop they are selling fakes

… are not this. You owe Associated OP an apology.

I have bought many food/drink items, not just 20 or 30 and they were never fake.

          • @PJC: You are catching and quoting single phrases out of whole what I clearly stated is mine and only mine opinion and I stand by it. As mentioned before, different people different tastes different opinions. No discoussion about that. EOT.

@[Deactivated]: Here is an entire quote …

Please ban this user and his associated shop they are selling fakes

… you owe OP an apology. He is a The Reject Shop employee and he emphatically does not deserve to be banned. You are defending the indefensible.

              • +2

@PJC: I accidentally upvoted a Salian comment and apparently I can't revoke it.

But again Salian, it's not your opinion. Anything that the Reject Shop sells with a brand name attached to it IS a product made by that company. We don't sell or claim to sell designer brands and labels such as LV or Gucci or anything like that. We do however sell Colgate, Mars, Nestle, Oreo, Cadbury, Earth Choice, Fab, Quilton, etc.

Your "opinion" on this matter is like me saying the sky is brown, but nobody can say otherwise because it's "my opinion".

                • +2

@Faro: Well said. Please continue posting deals.

                • @Faro: I wish the internet could ban stupid people/opinions/comments

    • +1

I think you should be banned from having an opinion your opinions are so deranged.

I can not agree with what PJC said enough.

    • +1

Your comparison to LV is incorrect. It's like saying the only LV bag you've seen in Australia is brown, therefore any other colour is a fake. When fact is, LV has released other colours in other countries and someone Imported one here.

Is known that companies may adjust the ingredients a little to cater to the target country, for example Tim tams for Asians countries might be less sweet than Aussie. Reject shop import these (note foreign language on packaging on some) This doesn't make it fake.

Saying the food taste different is a valid opinion, but saying it's fake is your opinion, not a fact. Opinions are like ass holes, everyone has one.
