I'd prefer an Intel chip in a Windows machine than a Qualcomm chip. Driver support alone would be absolutely shite.
Would easily recommend this one over that. The platform is still quite new. Sd850 performance isn't super quite yet (wait on the sd1000 soc?) and the lack of x86-64 on ARM is a bit of a turn off.
Battery life will be noticeably better on the arm one of course.
Snapdragon 850 chip will last for several days, which is a significantly better battery life.
What do you do on it that you need several days of battery life? Do you not recharge at home?
If it's camping, bring a power bank or two.
The 850 will come no where near the Intel cpus, ie, should they refresh this with 8th gen cpu. Considering this is pretty much a surface pro, with a few draw backs ofc, this isn't quite the best option
Decent price for the specs. Have a Surface Pro 2017 myself! However I saw a girl with the Galaxy Book in white at Uni, have to say they are pretty slick, looked stunning in white. I think she got it from overseas because I haven't seen the white version for sale in Australia.
Yeah as you guys said above the SD version of Windows hybrids are coming, I'm actually crazy excited for the battery life part, we'll see how the x86 conversion goes but 4 day battery life will be insane.
I use a 10.8 inch Android tablet with a keyboard as my "laptop" for any class that doesn't require a specific windows app and only bring out my Surface when needed. Gives me 2-3 days battery life!

are you talking about the girl or the tablet
Hahahahahahaha. Wow, that's a good one! I have to say both. But the girl looks good in all variants!
LMAO, gonna screenshot and share this to everyone man!
earlier this year I bought a previous model, the TabPro S. it is an amazing product, but very fragile! I was treating it with respect, but one day I took it out of the bag, and the screen was cracked.
Please note that Samsung won't repair screen under warranty, whatever the cause! had to pay $350+ for repair.
Thanks to complimentary purchase insurance that comes with my AMEX I was able to recover the cost, and sold it.So keep in mind:
- fragile
- screen cracks not covered by warranty
There a new one coming to Australia. One with a snapdrag 850
