  • How accurate would the guage be on this sort of thing?

I bought one previously the tire pumping function works great, the pressure gauge is worse than useless

      • Which means it's not worth getting?

I was told by a reseller of auto parts that such tyre inflator is not recommended for use with car tyres, as it lacks a moisture filter unlike those found at petrol stations. So over time, using them will cause more moisture in your tyre and degrade it faster. So I didn't buy any in the end.

But going to the station pump can be such a hassle especially if you have multiple cars to inflate and you need to do it when the tyres are cold. So either right after you head out of home in the morning or immediately after work which can be tricky if you are in a rush and traffic is a mess.

        • I once had the great idea to use the tyre pump to blow the dust out of some electronic equipment. I quickly found the bit of equipment covered in water.

I think if you want to be sure of no water getting in you need to get a proper air compressor with water trap.

  • Probably as accurate as the markings, which are 5psi increments. No worse that that at least.

Not a bad little device for $20.

  • Would this work for a presta valve on bicycles?

    • Yes

    • No

    • You use a shrader to presta adaptor, my last one was a bit over a dollar most bike shops carry them.

Would highly recommend this one from eBay.

I originally paid $23.99 with free delivery a few weeks back so not sure why the price has jumped a bit. Trying to find a decent product for something like this is like successfully avoiding herpes after going to a South African happy place lounge but this one does the trick. Australia Post currently sell this same model for like $60 I think. Has adaptors for the main things needed and is really well built (unlike the 3 Kmart ones I bought that died for various reasons.
