Note: Delivery may vary depending on your location: I'm in Melbourne.

These TVs apparently have "soiled" cartons, but otherwise have a full warranty. See below for description on Grays Online.

They have a fair amount of stuff on sale, and a number of other TVs as well with savings around 40%: http://www.graysonline.com/search.aspx?q=sony+TV

I think the item linked is pretty good value - not a lot on staticice or online to compare to.

    3D Optional (3D Transmitter/Glasses Required – Not Included)

Don't these normally come with 3d TVs? They're not particularly cheap either IIRC???

    • +2

You're right, it really should be labelled a "3D Capable" TV. Just saying 3D TV implies it has the hardware built in, and likely comes with at least one pair of glasses, no?

JB HiFi have the 46" HX800 for $1528 with free delivery. They have 10% off this weekend, but I'm not sure if that price is with or without the 10% off.

The 52" LX900 is bigger, but comparing the specs on the Sony site I can't see that's it better.

    No glasses with HX800, 2 with LX900.

    • Pretty sure lx has built in 3d transmitter, and it was top of the ramge.

      • Yes it does. Top of the range, but when you do a side by side compare some features are better on the HX. Dynamic edge lighting (HX), edge lighting (LX). Deep black panel on the HX. The LX has more toys though (presense sensor, tilt swivel stand, Dolby sound, wifi,)

      • The Sony KDL52LX900 is according to Sony Australia, was (deleted model) definately not the top of the range. The top of the range was the KDL46HX900 and the KDL52HX900. Further to this, the KDL52HX900 won the EISA Best Product LCD for 2010-2011. The new 2011 range of Sony LCD/LED will be available soon. Typically, the cheapest clearance price of the 2010 will be even lower for the 2011 range.

        • Ok, I was assuming that because it's on the left of the Bravia page (and the cheaper models on the right, but it seems it doesn't work like that.

        • One things for sure, Sony have the most confusing model naming ever.

    • Great Find - I clicked through to buy, and the online free delivery price was $1528.05, so this is now, definitely, NOT a bargain.

I still think the KDL52LX900 is - and it comes with 2 3D glasses, so is 3D rather than 3D ready / capable.

I'll update the Title, and post a new bargain for the JB deal!

The Good Guys Chadstone (Vic) Homemaker Centre is offering to beat this price and supply the Sony KDL46HX800 with a 3D transmitter and set of 3D glasses (combined value of $168).

  • I reckon the JB prices already have the 10% off.

    • Not until you click through to buy - displayed prices are before the 10% off.

      • I got through to the credit card entry page and it was still $1528.

        • yep, that's right - it shows $1698 before you click through, and $1528 after.

          Not 10% off $1528, but 10% off $1698.

So at $1528 delivered it beat the Grays Online deal by about $70 delivered.

        • Oh, I clicked on the 10% off TV's banner on the front page and it went straight to the TV's with 10% off already.

  • Harvey Normand in QLD are matching the JBHIFI deal, just ordered a 46" HX800 for $1850 with 3D Glasses + Receiver +5Year warranty

  • The Sony warranties are pretty competitive particularly if you join My Sony first.

  • Also remember the 2011 range are very close and these TV's will be even cheaper.

  • Also worth looking at the Panasonic VT20 range at JB. $1496 for the 50". Someone reckons they got it in store in Sydney for $1300!

I don't reckon the Sony LX900 52" is worth more than $1000 on top of that.

deal killer = grays online, about as trustworthy as a promise/pledge by a politician

    • yeh yeh…..:) I am avoiding them after a few bad experiences.

LCD trying to catch Plasmas coat tails as always, yet still more expensive? The power of marketing on those ill informed. Retails for $4,499?? Who are these crooks? Get a VIERA 3D VT20 58inch for under $2500, 6 inches bigger and kicks the crap out of any Bravia Sony has ever released.

  • Just found this link to the Panasonic VT20 50" for $1346 on Whirlpool. Also the 58" for $2179. Tempting but the power supply buzzing issue is a worry. I hate any electronic noise I haven't deliberately paid for.
