Same price as MSY though so its hardly a bargain. The HIS is cheap at 229 given it's 240 at MSY, but still hardly front page news. I'm still expecting it under $200 by end of April.
solid card for the price +1
Hmm… To buy a second one for CF or not…
Lots of people don't like MSY so it's a pretty good deal.
Too bad there aren't any good deals on 5850 or 5870's though :( Need one for crossfire.
Pay a bit more and get a 6970.
I have been thinking about doing that for a month or two but I can't decide if I really need it or not. My 5850 can still play most games at high settings @1920x1080 but I still haven't played a few of the newer games like crysis 2 and dragon age 2… I think I will wait for a really good deal on a 5850 or a 6970.
There's some used 5870's on Ebay… worth taking a look.
Yes I know but they usually go for very high prices on ebay. I have seen second hand 5870's go for more $$$ than a new 6870.
umm the 6970's aren't just a bit more…
this 6870 is $229, the cheapest 6970 on that site is $369
Quite a lot more imhoIf you really wanted the 6900 features, the 6950's are down to $289
Guys just one thing, even though it may not be much of a "bargain", I'd prefer to deal with PCCG over MSY any day of the week. Even though PCCG is in Melb, they have excellent customer service and if you do order something, you'll get your money back in bubble wrap anyway :P lolz
you’ll get your money back in bubble wrap
+1
there is a whole thread here about PCCG's wrapping

NOTE 6870 is NOT the equivalent of the 5870.
6870 is a more budget version in the 6000 series than the 5870 was in the 5000 series.
The difference in performance is pretty minor
If you prefer a little more outer "bling" on the card, they have the Powercolour Radeon 6870 for $239
