I think I should be able to, but I just wanted to check.I believe you can sign up on the $10 plan when you activate your $40 sim.
Meaning you will get 4 months of $10 out of the $40 starter sim card.
If I were you I would buy another $40 sim at half price and activate it for the 15g data and gift it to your $10 sim's data bank to build up data :)
