  • Why this over a hedge trimmer & chainsaw? Is it better for roots or something if it's dirt tolerant?

This is a repo saw, can cut through pretty much most items. Wood with nails, sheet metal, car frames etc. Useful too if cutting limbs of trees.

        use it to cut bread

        repo saw

Your use of the word "repo" confused me as it is short for "repurchase agreement".

    • This is more a Power Tool for general purpose use inc. Timber, Metal, Plastics but is just as suitable for trimming tree branches or shrubs or even cutting up the smaller stuff for a fireplace without the need to get the chainsaw out. Great little saws, very versatile especially when renovating/restoring. Excellent for cutting awkward things in awkward places.

Only difference with a dedicated branch trimmer is that the trimmer has a claw that encompasses the saw blade to keep the branch in a static position whilst you press the trigger, so it can be used one-handed, so very helpful when hanging out of a tree on the other.

I have one of these, it's not as strong as a full size demolition saw, but handy for making a man-sized hole in the living room fibro when I forget my keys, or the wife locks me out.

Thank god for Aldi. It's the only way we get discounted Power Tools from Bunnings.

Shuu Dick Smith will hear you

      • Otherwise we get what well travelled people call the "Australia tax"?

  • I've had one of these for about a year and it is excellent.

    Reciprocating Saw - Skin Only

"It puts the lotion in the basket."

  • does this thing have a lot of grunt compared to a corded one?

  • I bought this for $55 on back order (received about a month ago) as they were all sold out everywhere.

Might have trouble finding anything other than an empty shelf where these are supposed to be stocked.

Went to a few Bunnings stores yesterday afternoon chasing 4Ah Batteries but bought two more Recipro Saws for a friend & family member while I was at it. There was heaps of stock of these saws in the stores I visited, at least 30 on the shelves so I'd say they've recently restocked.

      • Maybe waiting for stock to come back in is better than getting talked by a cashier into doing a special order…

Although as someone else pointed out the price drop would only be happening as Aldi is selling their equivalent soon.

  • good shit if you have the batteries…

  • I'm not happy with the new shade of red they have started to use 🤔

The new brighter red is the same as the Einhell stuff. I'd say Ozito/Bunnings originally had Einhell make the Ozito branded stuff in the more maroon red colour but recently dropped it because it added meaningless cost. If you're lucky like me you could time your Bunnings visit to coincide with the Ozito rep who's replacing all the demo units with the new colour then pickup the old coloured demo units at a nice big discount :) Managed to get the Radio and another Torch for $10! Kinda pointless I know but I really didn't need duplicates of all the tools I already have.

      • which one is closer to bloodstains - my preferred choice….

      • I wish i had that much luck🤞
I need(want) a new brushless drilldriver but this new color really makes ozito stuff look toy-like imo.

  • Expired back up to $55
