As usual the PSU and SSD is generic and won't be as good as branded but at $539 that doesn't really matter. Both easily replaceable and cheap.

I personally would add a cheap HDD or maybe even a 500GB SSD in for extra storage.

    • Cheap cases are fine as long as you don't plan on doing anything with them. It's not like cooling is going to be a huge issue with an i3 and an rx570.

The PSU may die though, and probably won't have as good efficiency as a better branded one.

    Lol my friend bought 2400g and rx570 4gb 8gb ram for 1000

  • Is that motherboard adequate if you wanted to upgrade the CPU in the futureand do some basic overclocking?

    • +1

I don't believe you can do any kind of overclocking on a "H" series board. You'll need to grab a "Z" series as far as I'm aware.

Also, to the best of my knowledge, you'd want a decent power supply for overclocking too.

      • if you are into overclocking you would be selecting your own components and have an upgrade path, upgrades for this would I5, or I7, but past experience is that in 2-3 years they will have a 10th or 11th gen CPU, 8th gen will be hard to get, and you will need new MB for new processor …

You would need to upgrade in the next 12 mths while you still get CPU to match motherboars.

      • Good tip, thanks. So this is more like a gaming console - buy it as is for gaming, and the only additions might be more RAM or an SSD.

Speaking of RAM, "8GB DDR4 TeamGroup Elite RAM" isn't particularly common. Any consequence to pairing it with something else (G.Skill) with the same timing?

        • The faster RAM will match the speed of the slower one.

  • OP this is a great finding.
It's a pity that I can't install Windows 7 on it, or has anyone a solution?

    • +1

      Why Win 7?

    • You can downgrade to windows 7.

      • I'm worrying about the motherboard drivers for example.

        • If it supports 8th gen it'll be fine.

          • @scuderiarmani: Asus only list drivers for Windows 10.

            • +1

@dealhunt: there are no official divers for even 7th gen Intel if you want win 7 ….. they stopped making "SUPPORTED OFFICIAL drivers" ….all is win 10 since 7th gen if you want official supported drivers
Microsoft, Dell, HP, Lenovo, gigabyte, ASUS etc, ….all have agreed win 7 is dead so don't waste time on drivers.

  • Barring the SSD (but not a huge issue) and the PSU that's a great buy. Have a +ve

  • AMD Version

    • there is, same price with the 2200G but this is better value. this ram will be too slow to pair with ryzen and you can't OC either of them. this has better performance out of the box.

  • For $100 more, this the below a better deal?
    Intel i3 8100 120GB SSD 8GB DDR4 GTX 1060 6GB Gaming Computer Desktop PC

    https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Intel-i3-8100-120GB-SSD-8GB-DDR4…

    • Slightly better graphic card for $100 more and same budget PSU.
You have to decide what you want to do with the computer because if it's for gaming, then you need a bigger SSD, add more fans in the case, you might need a better CPU cooler, 1 x 8GB RAM stick is not an ideal solution as you should have 2 sticks, add a storage drive.
