  • How do these compare to bulk nutrients?

    • +5

      Not as bulky.

Almost 7g of sugar a serve for a 'WPI Blend'. ROFL.

    • Per serving? Jesus …

  • It's showing up as $25 on Woolworth Online.

    Might be store specific?

  • +2

    Junk protein. Don't.

    • What do you recommend???

  • Musashi used to be popular back in the day but nowadays its outdated and not as good as other brands out there.
I advise to stay away from brands you generally see at coles/woolies/chemistwarehouse.

    • The Mocca Shred and Burn flavour is beautiful, I use that, get it from chemist warehouse when it drops below $50 and apply entertainment book discount

  • How’s this comparable to Optimum Nutrition? I like the Musashi chocolate flavour though. Seems to be more sugar?

ON Gold is far better than this.

provide your training goals and scientific bro-science to backup your statement.

Not even a bro science attempt to back up these claims that this protein is dodgy.

The best way to compare the quality of protein powders is to look at the BCAA profile. This is comparable with the bulk nutrients whey (both of which are poorer than pure whey). You want 3-4g of leucine per serve and this has that. This has more sugar but less fat. The total calories are really similar. If you're drinking this pre or post workout carbs are more useful than fat. Carbs and protein are anabolic, fat is not. If you're drinking this because you're trying to lose weight, it's similar in total calories to bulk nutrients. If you're drinking this to build muscle the extra carbs are probably a good choice. There's nothing wrong with this protein powder and certainly no reason to claim that it's junk or outdated; what does that even mean!
