A vote just for the brand name

    • +1

Thanks. Brand names are catchy these days. Even OZbargain favourite ThoreFire

      • +1

My rule in life is to stay away from all brands with the word "fire" in it.

  • +1

    I'm game to try one

  • +1

$5.99 delivery for me. Not bad at $23.49 delivered including a battery. I have a few 18650 flashlights already but might get this for my dad with the ease of a built in charging port.

Pay the delivery fee to get one month Prime membership

  • +2

    No! I don't need another torch……………………………….

    • +1

But u got 1 anyway like i did??

  • +1

Although i bought one I hope this sale goes better than my last
After 3 week's not delivered had to apply for a refund as fastway couriers lost both parcels.
I'm weary of Amazon au now

    • +1

So far, I haven't had any problems when it's fulfilled by Amazon

    • +1

Fastway are an absolute joke. Worst delivery experiences with them.

      • +1

I had 2 parcels go missing at the same time.
I took the risk with this and must say great service by toll it was delivered a few hours ago thanks OP

  • Hi all. Thanks for the votes and traffic to the sales page it's a big help to get noticed on Amazon, hope you enjoy the 40% sale while it last. And if you love the torch please leave a review 😁

Just received mine, (came via AusPost, shipped yesterday - I'm in Melb.), things that aren't apparent from the description:

5 modes: High, medium, low, strobe, SOS - there's no last mode memory, always starts in High.

Switch is a "soft" on/off - not like most torches I have where you need to half-trigger the switch to switch modes, this one you just click the switch to switch modes or hold it in to turn it off.

It has a zoom, something that the description only alludes to. Zoom is smooth but at maximum the head moves a little too freely from side to side, (~3mm). Spot at maximum zoom is emitter shaped, ie. square.
At minimum zoom the light intensity seems very consistent, (not brighter in the centre), over the whole of the spot.

While charging the switch flashes red, currently charging it with my Tronsmart 5 port charger.

Having the switch light up when the torch is on seems a little superfluous, luminescent switch cover would have been just fine so it's easier to spot in the dark. Or given it's a soft on/off, switch flashing every 10-30 seconds and turned off while the torch is on.

End of the day, I like it … might have to see what I can do about the 'wobbly' head at max zoom though, (might be something as simple as a better O ring.

OP, you might want to update your description on Amazon specifically stating it has zoom and multi-mode.

Would have been nice to to have a small skull after the 'Killa LED' also :)

Thanks for the review! A few questions:
      1. What battery does it come with?
      2. Any idea how long the torch will operation on "high" for? (A lot of these torches auto dim due to heat after a few minutes.)

      • +1

Flat top battery it never auto dim I had it on for 20 mins on lower settings great torch for the price

      • +1

Battery is noname marked as: 18650 3.7V 2600mAh
        Dated: 2018 07 11

No idea how long it will last.

Switch LED turns green once it's fully charged.

Make sure you grab the microUSB plug at the top/bottom not the sides when you disconnect otherwise you'll pull the socket cover off … luckily mine just pulled it out of its mounting hole, (push it back in), but it could break the silicon 'link' instead.

Just doing a High mode test now to see if it'll auto-dim/off, (it does mention it has thermal protection).

      • +2

On High mode for 24 mins, hasn't auto-dimmed or turned off.

Direct contact K-type sensor reports the body temperature as ~33° when it's jammed between the body and the head, (trapped with zoom).

To me it's not so hot that it would become uncomfortable to hold for a prolonged period.

        • +1

          Excellent, thanks!

Edit: Rep should send you a free torch for such a comprehensive review!

      • +1

A bit more, there's no O ring between the lens retainer and head.

        https://files.ozbargain.com.au/upload/8952/62724/img_2018100…

So you could conceivably have water getting into direct contact with the emitter, whether it goes any further depends on the sealing behind the retaining rings.

        • +1

Okay, so almost definitely not waterproof. But interested to know what the (claimed?) IP rating is.

Also, can you tell if the battery is protected? (Do you have an unprotected one to compare size?)

          • +1

            @dust:

But interested to know what the (claimed?) IP rating is.

It doesn't have one, they state it has two O rings in the head, this would be under the retaining rings at either end to waterproof make the electronics water resistant, (EDIT: Nothing electronic is waterproof).

Plus there's two O rings on the body, one at each end of the battery compartment.

Also, can you tell if the battery is protected?

Nope, I only have a couple of 6+ y.o. TrustFire 2500mAh and I can't remember if they were protected or not, (I think they are), but they are the same length as the supplied 18650.

EDIT: OK, went back over my old DX orders, the TrustFire's are protected cells, (from 2009 and still going :)

For the price I still think this is a decent light.

  • +1

thanks OP, I'll give it a try! (and if I like buy another for my gf… how long will this sale last?)

    • Sale will end tomorrow back to $29.99

  • +1

    Grabbed one, thanks. Good price

  • +1

Does the circuit have undervolt cutoff? If so, at what voltage? Can you use a non button top, non protected cell?

Picture 3 shows a flood style light
Picture 4 shows a throw style light

So is this throw or flood?

    • +2

      Both, it has zoom.

At a distance of ~1.8m from a wall you'll get:
      1) A circle with a diameter of ~2.0-2.2m at minimum zoom;
      2) A square of ~300mm x 300mm at maximum zoom.

      • +1

Thx. I guess no undervolt protection. But the L2 runs on 3.05v so should be fine? Not sure if it still drains after that

  • +2

Late post but I just had mine delivered. Compared it to a LED Lenser P7.2 (around $60 worth of torch) and the Killa is way brighter and has a far wider spot.
It's similar brightness when at the third dim setting to the P7.2. I'm no torch expert but the Killa seems like good bang for buck.

    • That would make a awesome ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ review on Amazon. Just saying..
Thankyou for your post, it really helps a small aussie business compete.

      • +1

I just tried but apparently I haven’t spent enough on Amazon in the past 12 months to be able to submit a review :(
Hopefully you sold a heap from the OzB post, all the best for you and your business.
