      Hello 2017

    • ebay astroturf army is here downvoting comments

The two deals end on different days — PGREAT expires 8 October while PFUTU expires 9 Oct. It's best not to combine two different ebay sales when they have different expiry dates — marking the deal expired on 8 Oct incorrectly expires the PFUTU deal as well.

Didn't know we own a Mart
    oz bargain mart :p

    • And you can buy a red unicycle for $34.40. ;)

  • get ready for some JACKING

    • +4

      … something, something, price jacking,
      … can't wait for amazon, …
Does anyone know the answer to my question that has already been answered five time in this thread but which I'm too lazy to read?

    • +1

Yep had a look at some PC stuff I've been looking at for my latest build and looks like already jacked.

    • How'd you know what I had planned this evening?

Plus 1 for FUTU JACKIN UP their prices like a MOFO

    • +8

Futu played it smart this time, they just took down the listing of anything I was even remotely interesting in buying. Well played.

  • +25

Futu's prices are jacked 100% of the time (to avoid presale price jacks). That's why they always have a 10% of store wide + 5% off ebay sale in between sales. So really this sale is just a 5% off usual prices for futu. Just thought I'd let peeps know.

    • +7

      that's disgusting…

    • +8

i actually outplayed futu less than 10 days ago bought a gtx 1080 rog strix used the 20% off and used 10% off ebay gift cards got the 1080 for only $658 while its retailed at 850-950 at the moment :)

Futu MX500/1TB is $212, shipped free.

Others (shipped to me in WA):

      Umart: $281.

      MSY: $280.89

      PLE: $299

They might jack some prices, but that one looks good.

eBay now not even trying to disguise their contempt for customers with these code names.

I suggest we say a GREAT F U TU eBay by avoiding this "sale".

    • +1

I guess all of this rip off trends happens after current prime minister impossed Anti competitive GST on all imports causing Amazon USA, Ebay AUS and etc to become less competitive and making Gerry very happy man .

      • +7

I think that's a completely separate issue, to be honest.

      • +2

Just like Dick Smith, Hardley Normal will go tits up regardless, they're overpriced.

        • Harvey Norman is actually very competitivepy priced nowadays. Bought my first and second fridge there. Best price available at the time.

          • @minijumbuk: people with HN got too focused on pricing of the technology stuff compared to amazon ….. if you need a toaster , coffee machine , fridge, etc they are competve and price match and even ebay isn’t always cheaper on stuff like toasters due to postage .

wish we had a bing lee in melbourne so HN would price match them, at the moment HN add the bing lee postage to price matches in melbourne.

Everything I've looked at at Futu is 25% to 45% more than Umart

  • (profanity) off Futu and your price jacking. Deceptive sale practice.

    • Or in other words FU TU FUTU, not going to have my PENNY5?

    • Postage: FREE Standard Postage

  • This sale - Gopro Hero5 Black - $569.95 at Sparesbox

Quick Google search - $349 at Dick Smith

    Am I missing something?

    • You are missing on the deals where it’s sold for $212

      Am I missing something?

    • +1

Sparesbox is terrible. Price jacking is their motto.

Brake discs I’ve been wanting to buy went up from $422.95 four weeks ago to $492.95 today.

Same with brake pads went from $79 to $93 today.

WTF IS THE POINT OF ALL THESE DISCOUNT CODES EBAY?

  • Pitty to see Futu jacking up there prices… bought so much from them historically

  • +1

I hate these eBay "sales" as of late. They started off being legit deals, now it's full of price jacking, where in the end your 20% off ends up becoming more like 5% off or not a sale at all. Oh well!

  • Tom's Outdoors is a good outfit - bought some Patagonia waders for well below market value a while back, and they were happy to exchange them in store when they didn't fit properly. They're definitely in the luxury end of the camping market though.

  • On another matter related to FUTU seller,I've packed a cart full of computer parts and it turns out the final price after discount is same price as other sellers who are not offering discounts e.g. umart website. What a wonderful 20% they are offering.

  • come on no-one has shopped at 'OZ Bargain Mart' must be some deals there.

  • I know people are picky when it comes to Office Chairs made of PU Leather, but this one promises High Quality, and the reviews are good…

I have bought a couple of things that were marginally cheaper than the best I could find on staticice etc. A NAS (QNAP TS-251+) https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/231201800822 and couple of IronWolf HDDs. There were cheaper options on Staticice but when i went to the checkout process and added on the $30 courier delivery fee etc, the Futu 20% off price with free delivery was ahead.

NAS was $399.20 on Futu delivered using the code, best on Staticice was $409 from MSY if you pickup from the shop, if u get delivered the postage adds on top. next best was $419 from Megabuy + postage.

Futus original price was obviously jacked as there were plenty of shops selling for around the $425 - $480 range. Too coincidental that adding the code brings it down to less than $10 under the competition. Either way who cares, I think i got a bargain.

  • Got myself a WD 8TB Red for $318 from Futu. Great deal.
