I own this projector and it's a great deal at that price. Note it's not "True 4K" as it uses a DLP chip, but it is effectively 4K in viewing anything but a test pattern. The max brightness is a big plus, it's definitely enough for any reasonably sized screen in a lit living room and significantly larger in a light controlled room. For those interested, I recently published a full reviewed here: https://everydaylistening.net/2018/09/28/benq-tk800-review/

Despite receiving the projector free of cost, I will attempt to be as objective as possible in my evaluation.

Everybody thinks they can be objective, but it's almost impossible. That's why we don't allow people in court to give $2000 gifts to judges and juries.

Edit: Also remember that a bad review means this'll be the last gift from Benq that OP ever gets.

But someone who is aware of their biases and acknowledges them rather than hides them is better to be trusted than someone blind to them or who won't acknowledge them or doesn't care to try to avoid them. Almost all critics see movies for free, for instance, but we don't throw out all their opinions as worthless.

Its cant be 4K viewing if its not projecting at 4K

  • Is this at all Costco stores?

    • I saw it in Costco Epping Vic.They have lots in stock and i presume it is new arrival and nationwide.

    • There aren't any at the Auburn NSW Costco yet so I would guess that stock is still rolling out around Australia atm.

      • Please note that they didn't had the actual projectors on the pallet, It only had the cards and the item i suppose is to be collected after billing.

        • Yeah I spoke with the person who was assigned to that area, they only have a small portable benq projector available atm.

  • Can anyone confirm if it is stocked at Costo North Lakes?

  • what kind of screen to use with this? I saw screens ranging from about $600 to $2000 for the same size.
