Unfortunately this list is really old I think.

I've been to Carnegie OW and they showed me the stock list for Vic. Only place in the state that had stock was South Yarra OW. Which I've just been to and bought the last one in Victoria. Not sure what other states are like but I suggest people ring before going to a store.

I've seen this a few days ago but didn't think stock was going to be much so didn't post as didn't think it met the requirements for a bargain. But all the same if OP didn't post it and this above post wasn't made thn I'd have probably missed out on a great deal.

  • This is a clearance item & may not be available online, depending on your location.

    • +2

Since when is the availability of something online location dependent? (Ok, apart from when living in China)

      • I think they meant that whether the item was in stock locally eg; your local state

        • For Click & Collect? You'd think if it's available to order online it could be shipped anywhere.

  • +2

Great price. Heads up this is just the V1.0 not the V2.0 (hence it being on clearance), however with some of the issues those have been having it's probably best to grab the V1.0 for the time being.

  • +2

these are huge btw, the new mavic pro 2 has just been released and is much more compact for travel.

    • Yeah like 2 tonne truck huge!

    • +1

The Mavic 2 Pro makes compromises though. You dont get the full benefit of the 1" sensor.

      • heard this but maybe they will fix it later. think it's early and buying one now you are a beta tester.

still more compact and better quality i think.

mavic air is a better alternative and cheaper (but very loud)

        • Definitely more compact and easier to travel with, but no way better quality. On par at most. They use basically the same sony sensor. Only difference camera wise is the hassleblad branded lens… And a much smaller surface area for heat dissipation, hence the lower quality video.

  • +3

This is a great price if you only want the one battery that it comes with. Beware though, extra batteries are $250-300 each. The new Mavic 2 Pro offers comparable image quality in a much smaller form factor, and the batteries are much smaller and half the price, despite offering slightly longer flight time.

    • +2

No they Mavic pro 2 doesn't. Cliff totten on YouTube released a video analyzing the MP2 1inch sensor. It's at best 2.7k upscaled.

      https://youtu.be/GpweQVMuXbQ

      • I said comparable because it’s more complex than that. For stills the M2P is as good as the P4P. M2P’s HQ video mode is also roughly equal, but yeah - full FoV video on the M2P is about 2.7K or maybe a little less due to aliasing.

        • For stills the M2P is as good as the P4P.

P4P captures better stills in low light AFAIK.

          • @BuzzBuzzBuzz: Do you have a comparison link? I’d be keen to have a look. I’ve only seen one guy on youtube claim that. He didn’t back it up with anything meaningful though. I currently have the P4 Advanced (same camera as P4P), and I love it, but it’s definitely a pain to lug around compared to the Mavic.

  • Any deal for the Mavic Air?

    • most places can offer anywhere between $50 to $200 off RRP, just need to find the right store.

    • I just bought a Mavic Air Fly More Combo for $1359 from Teds. Not the cheapest price ever but not bad, I think they were just doing the drone plus an extra battery for under $1100.

      • Damn that is tempting, I'm waiting to see it go to $1299 before I buy one. $1359 is definitely a very nice price for the combo kit. Are there any drone places that price beat? Cause if they can beat 5% off that price, it is literally bang on the money I would pay. Or I could wait for boxing day… Would love to use your receipt as a reference.

    • Any deal for the Mavic Air?

Mavic Air Combo Red (only) selling at $1300 in Gumtree, local price. About $70 extra for postage postage.

  • For 99.99% of the people out there, the Mavic Pro (2 included) is a way better option, I have friends that got rid of their Phantom's just for convenience alone.

    • Would this classify as an impulse buy just to do a waypoint time-lapse for construction of a home over a year?

      • Yes

  • Flew my Phantom 4 into some powerlines. Never again :)

    • Helps to look up…

      • It was about 300 metres away from me

    • That's taking quick charge a step too far.

      • Tell me about it. Footage of the crash is gone because the cables fried the board including the SD card

        • Wasn't the video cached on your phone?

          • @BargainKen: Nope. I was using a galxy tab and changed the settings to save on the SD opposed to the device

        • Bummer.

Look on the bright side though; at least you didn't fly a Manned Aerial Vehicle into powerlines, right?

          • @dm01: Yes, yes i guess you're right! I've saved a life or two, wow.

            I'm a lifesaver. A real life saver.

            • @Xiaomi: Practically a hero when you think about it. Should at least receive a commendation and a park bench named after you.
