1600

We just scouted these Singapore Airlines sale fares to Tokyo with travel dates between Feb and Aug 2019 depending on routes. All flights will have a stopover in Singapore.

Singapore Airlines are well regarded as one of the worlds best airlines. They are a full-service airline so meals and luggage are included in the fare. All prices quoted are for return fares and include fees and taxes. Some payment types may incur an additional fee.

As a Virgin partner you can receive velocity benefits with Singapore Airlines and collect status credits and velocity points if you are velocity member. - Having two legs with a stopover in Singapore this is good for status credit accumulation.

    No love for Perth?

Lots of love in the AFL tho right?

    • +1

There are fares there from Perth, but the best is $792 return so didn't add them in the deal title.

      No love for Perth?

      Nope, and no GST.

can i hang around in singapore for a few nights, then go to tokyo?

    • +1

Always a great option but airlines usually charge a little extra for the stopover - might be best to follow through to the Singapore Airlines site and see if you can amend the flight to include a stopover for your preferred dates or contact one of the travel agents direct to see if they can help.

    • Yep just tried from Brisbane. Extra $100AUD so $749 for me regardless of how many day it was, as long as its within the travel date. Probably isn't due to the airline charging more, purely airport taxes which the airlines have to pay to cover their costs.

      • $749 is still a great price to spend a few nights in Singapore as well. Did you do that on the SQ site directly?

Used flight scout to find dates —> went to Skyscanner and pick preferred website to book off. Went with BYOjet, but I also recommend AuntBetty as its FC's sister company. Then used multiple stopover option under BYOjet.

    • You could try a longish layover and do the Changi city tour whilst technically in transit.

"You may just be passing through this tiny island-state, but let Singapore’s sights and sounds, colours and beats, energy and electricity enthrall you on the Free Singapore Tour. If you have at least 5.5 hours to spare till your connecting flight, join one of our free 2.5 hours guided tours with 2 short stopovers. The Heritage Tour runs 5 times daily and the City Sights Tour runs 2 times daily."

Anyone considering a stopover need to check out this deal for $1 including hotel and tourist attractions https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/399757

  • What's the flight time from Melbourne to Singapore, and then Singapore to Tokyo? By memory, Singapore is about 8 hours? I'd imagine another 5-6 to Tokyo?
Edit - looked up my own answer. 8 hours to Singapore, 7 hours to Tokyo. Or 10 hours if you go to Tokyo direct……surely only worth it if you are actually going to stop at Singapore for a couple of days?

    • Or if you are a Virgin FF and want to fly airlines that provide benefits (ie. lounge access) and want to collect status credits.

Thanks OP! decided to book through Singapore Airlines and use their price match guarantee for the byojet. wanted to take advantage of [this deal]
(https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/399757) so we can enjoy a stopover and do some touristy stuff for $1 each!

    • Amazing! How long is your stopover?

    • Do you mind explaining how you did that? Hoping to do the same, cheers!

      • there is some info in the original post linked above, however like some other ozbargainers I am having difficulty with getting the price for $1 as it is based on twin share and I have an odd number of people travelling :( SIA have notified their escalation team, however they are closed until Tuesday so I won't get a confirmation either way until then….
FYI here are the instructions from SIA website

        • Based on my reading, odd numbers of travelers are discriminated against. 1, 3, 5, etc… which is ironic given their screenshots show a flight booking for 1 and a hotel booking for 2.

        • UPDATE: So Singapore Airlines have come through for me! I just received a call from their Singapore office from a lady named Wilma. She was able to book 1 x twin share and 1 x triple share for my family of 5! So I am extremely happy!
Warning: this took a lot of my time and may not be worth it for many people. I was on the phone to the call centre 131 011 for over an hour yesterday with no promise of anything coming through. I was extremely polite and understanding to the call centre staff who don't make the rules, but tried to explain my point of view that it wasn't really fair for me to book tickets with SIA including a stopover rather than direct flight if I could not access this promotion publicly advertised on their website which I met all the conditions for. It was only the escalation team who had the authority to make this happen for me.

    • Is there a requirement to book direct with Singapore Airlines for the Stopover Holidays? Bookings with stopovers get very messy while trying to price match.

      • I know! I couldn't see this requirement in the terms and conditions but based on comments in the original post I wasn't game enough to test it out. Since they have a price match anyway, it was really only the cost of $30 BYOjet I was missing out on and this was worth it for me

    • Hi, how did you contact them and what did you tell them?

      Thanks in advance!

      • see comment above

Fat chance but any deals for December late?

  • Looking for some good business class hot tips if anyone has any

Remember to dress well at check in. Be polite. Then talk about the weather. Talk about the destination and how excited you are to be going. Then hand over a few thousand dollars extra because none of the other stuff will make one iota of difference.

  • Great value.

  • Just to double-check, Japan does NOT require you to have a passport with at least 6 months validity?

  • Ugh! Looks like the Canberra fares are gone- lowest quoted fare on the Flight Scout site is the upper 800's.

  • to narita? seems to be to naneda

  • is this sale still going on??

    • There are currently very similar fares from Melbourne. Click through and have a look 😊
