You can use a cheaper french for the same result. Cold DRIP however is slightly different to this.

  • Seems like a great little gadget. The reviews on Amazon are really good. I'm tempted but do prefer my coffee warm.

    • Nothing 2 minutes in the microwave can’t fix ;) I do this every morning, still tastes good.

I Like the idea but even at $129 this is way overpriced for a glass contained with a strainer in it.

    • Agree. Might be better off just getting one of these and sitting it in a drink dispenser. Provided the opening is wide enough.

      • we still have an old ceramic filter holder in the garage from when we arrived in Australia in the 60's …parents brought some of Europe with them , put filter bag in it, add coffee and make drip coffee…hard part was getting ground coffee back then as tea or instant coffee was the norm.

Been barista and doing specialty coffee for 4 years, Hario definitely produces sinilar if not better results for its value.

      • Then I nyour opinion does cold brewing produce better results than that from a machine made by a barista?

  • a pair of new stockings filled with ground coffee in a water jug would achieve the same results.

I used to just chuck it all in a jar in the fridge overnight, then into the French press…

  • For those that have already have a sous vide, and I know heaps of people on Ozb have an Anova, I would also recommend trying sous vide "cold" brew before buying this. My wife has bought at least 5 different cold brew devices over the years, but none of them match the sous vide coffee in terms of richness and smoothness of the brew. There is a recipe on the Anova website here, and also some good chat on Reddit.

      That's warm brew. 😆

    • how is that cold brew

    • Interesting

  • I'm a little confused by this device - is it just a glass jug with a tap and a mesh filter? No slow dripper or any other complex feature? How does it retail for $199?

Can buy a nut milk bag for ~$7 and make cold brew in literally anything.

This is insane. Not a bargain and one of the most affluenza pieces of shit I've ever seen.

    Love kitchenaids other gear though.
