Nice find OP. From what I can see haven't been this cheap in a long while.

  • +4

This is a great deal, haven’t seen it this low, if you need a KitchenAid, run don’t walk.

Source: I have both the lift and non-lift versions.

    • +1

Can I ask why both and which one you prefer?

      • When I was shopping for one years ago, I was faced with the same decision.

Aside from the more powerful motor, which I thought would have been nice, I ultimately went with the non-lift version because it is smaller and I could put it away in a cabinet. The lift ones are muuuch bigger. As a non-professional home baker, it's been perfectly fine so far with everything I've thrown at it.

        • +1

Just keep it under 1.1kg of total weight if doing dough, and the tilt head mixers will be fine.

If you need to do more, bowl lift is the way.

    • +2

I was contemplating the lift one as the dough mixer isn’t strong enough on the non lift one.

Is there a difference in power/ability??

      • I just decided to make the swap from the KSM150 to this for this very reason. Luckily had 2 days left on my 30 day change of mind period!

        • +1

Yea stuff it. I also pulled the trigger. Going to sell my old one on marketplace

Just be aware if you have the old Proline KSM7581 it has a DC motor whereas this has an AC motor, which are usually louder and less powerful so people buying this one may not be getting the same thing as one from a couple of years ago. Not sure how that translates to performance but I saw a lot of people in one of the kitchenaid groups trying to find the old one as they preferred to the new one.

What do these normally go for (not rrp)

    • +1

For Amazon at least it seems to have floated at around ~$650 - $700 ish in the past few months (see here), generally seems to be at around $800-900 elsewhere. Fwiw the KSM-150 (non-lift) version has been hovering at the $500 mark recently on Amazon with a standard price of around $650 (see here).

Great price, that is what the non lift version goes for

I need a deal on the Kenwood Chef XL Stand Mixer KVL4100W or KVL4100S. That’s the GOAT mixer!

    • GOAT how? These are larger capacity, better quality, longer lasting. Buy once cry once and all that.

…I say that as I wait on a sale for an Ankarsrum.

      • Are blackwood lane the only sellers here? Do they ever have sales?

      • Have you seen the new Ooni Halo Pro that was release last week? Bit of a Wilfa knock off tbh but great features and can mix 5kg of dough in a batch.

        • It's not much cheaper than a Ankarsrum and looks mediocre. I think they intend to flog them off to people who buy their pizza ovens.

      • Kenwood XL is 6.7L vs KitchenAid 5.6L. If the KitchenAid was larger I'd get it, looks nice too but this is mainly for cake baking, egg whipping and mixing so not sure if one is better for dough.

      • Those Ankarsrum look great too, but whoah, that's a hefty price tag at $1,395!

      • Highly recommend the Ankarsrum. Yes expensive but well worth it

    • Absolute GOAT!

How about the Kenwood Titanium Chef Baker XL $527
or the one you are after is $436

I gave my Chef Titanium Baker XL to my daughter when my KYSProbaker 7+ arrived.

      • The Baker version seems to be on sale regularly but they changed the bowl connection so my other two bowls from the Chef XL are not compatible, otherwise I'd get that. But back in the day the 4100 went all the way down to $349

        • Actually I was incorrect with the name of my Kenwood, it is the Kenwood Chef Elite XL KVL6300S from this deal $381.50
It's a terrific machine, it just won't do the bulk of dough I need.
