Great scooter, but for their larger one, hard to justify the price.
We have a Reid 3 wheel larger scooter and a mini micro, and it's hard to see the 2x-4x (depending on size) 'better' quality than the Reid version.
Both seem really well built, smooth in rolling and lean/steering etc.
So for anyone after a cheaper option the Reid 3 wheel at under 50 bucks is a good deal. (www.reidcycles.com.au/indy-scooter.html)
The Reid ones are good! Don't have experience with Micro ones, but +1 Reid.
Lol.. This is clearly overpriced..
I bought 2 scooters a couple of weeks ago for $35 each from https://jolly-kidz.com.au/products/103-mini-kick-scooter-blu…Its on ozbargain here… https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/401924
3 votes and one neg for that one and because it's $6 cheaper elsewhere and already 11 votes for this overpriced item..
Exactly! Just read their description here..https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/401924
I am surprised they have only 3 positive votes when they are selling the same scooter @ $35
Just check the comment section. Looks like they tried to answer every question.
Why is nobody comparing the David Jones price with others on eBay or Ozbargain? Probably because David Jones has an Army of Positive Voters?
No wonder startups fail to survive on the Internet.DJ'S having an army of positive voters…ok then. This deal is the cheapest available for this particular scooter right now, shipped.
You've posted a link to a different, albeit similar looking scooter for much less and that's great! But it isn't the same by any stretch. I'm not saying a micro brand scooter is 3x better because I don't own the one from your link, but micro scooters are pretty widely regarded as better than most.
And plenty of startups survive, but those that just focus on drop-shipping the same products for slightly less than the next person aren't really bringing anything new to the "Internet". The rep from the post you linked even said themselves that the same product was cheaper on eBay and they are just drop-shipping.
Anyone know where to get the best deal of an electric scooter? I've found a few on eBay but am not sure of the quality is like.
Can add an electric motor to this scooter
Is it actually a scooter if it's got three wheels?
Aldi has a larger one for $50 next week that I'm keen on..
I'd be looking at reviews on the Reid one also. Same price and very well reviewed (have one, it's solid, and way better than similar priced department store ones we had/looked at previously)
Skip the mini, the larger one fits all sizes. It would be like buying a smaller car for someone as they're on the learners license, when in fact you can adjust a vehicles seat, wheel and mirrors to suit anyone.
Dupe
We bought this Mini Micro 11 years ago. Used by 2 kids everyday ….it's still going . I doubt an Aldi one would go for that long. Plus you can get spare parts for this one. We replaced the back wheels several times after the young ones started doing stunts and tricks. Same with the breaks and handles. Think of the landfill….with this one you only buy one entry level scooter rather than one a year.
We were handed down a 5yo mini micro 3 years ago and it's been great. 3.5yo son now has a maxi after outgrowing the mini, and once our 8mo daughter is capable enough she'll start on the mini. Gotta agree with @chyawala though, of buying from scratch skip the mini and go straight for the maxi. The adjustable handle means you'll only have to buy once.
The maxi micro is a great price too
