PVP MP was dead on arrival pretty much
Achievements doesn't work at all & expect crashes from time to time.
GOW 4 on other hand, is much better port although but I highly dout GOW1UE was fixed the last time I tried. At least I was able to get refund of GOW1UE.

I had a really good experience with the PC version. My achievements worked fine and the game ran well.
My only complaint is Dom is still as stupid as ever.
How good is the remastered? Worth it?
Yeah GoW1 RM was really good. 2 and 3 were pretty bad by today's standards but I played all 3 coop with a mate last year.
Reviews said coop was good. AI in single is pretty bad.
On Xbox Gears of War: Ultimate Edition included 1, 2 and 3… I take it that this isn't the case with Windows 10 version??
Why do you say that? From I know, they have separated the licenses for Xbox One vs Windows 10 because it came out before Play Anywhere. I believe they are the same game but your license only applies to one system.
The Xbox retail / boxed version could come with a voucher for 2 and 3 (I am not sure it has the voucher for 1 - given that Ultimate Edition is a remastered version of 1). I doubt the digital version would have the bonus voucher.
Also, if you were to purchased pre-owned version, it is likely those codes are already claimed.
However, in GamePass, Gears 1-4 + Ultimate Edition are all there at the moment.

I got Gears of War: Ultimate Edition thanks OP but gonna wait for Gears of War 4 to get near to $10 AUD looks good but trying not to spend too much on games I know I won't play as often.. I swear I have seen one of these games in the $4-5 bins at eb games or something though it probably was for Xbox and not PC.

I bought it and spent about 8 hours on solo campaign on Hardcore. Going back with a mate to finish it on Insane. It's worth the $20 imo, but if you're not willing to spend that much, pull the trigger at $15 I reckon. It's pretty fun

Though too many games so no idea when I will be playing it.. damn I should have waited for it to get lower some more.
