Standard pricing. Deal not a bargain. Should be in forums.

Govinda's has always been a great place to find ozbargainers.

    • it was?

I go to the city location once or twice a week. The samosas are awesome for $3.50

But this post is not a deal. This is the regular price.

    • I dunno… if it drives awareness and traffic to the business, I guess I'm just not sure what the end game is. I feel that because this is "all you can eat" that the value of this deal is potentially unlimited, and therefore must constitute a "bargain".

For instance, a few days ago, HN was selling a mouse at $19 and I posted it here and people responded to it because it was a really good deal, I didn't mention the RRP or previous lowest price and people still saw it and said yeah cool. If they HADN'T seen it posted here, they wouldn't have gone to HN and they wouldn't have the mouse.

I'm sure there are people here who will now go to Govindahs simply for having an awareness of it, regardless of RRP, if people think it's a bargain then it should be all good.

Cause otherwise its just semantics? If I opened a competing vegetarian restaurant next door, all you can eat at $26, and then I offered $2 discount, is my $24 offering now more of a bargain than the $13 offering next door?

      TLDR

A Vegetarian Buffet has no value but that which is put upon it.

  • I've been to the one in the city a few times, its always this price true but still a bargain imho. Food is certainly not "disgusting", just .. vegan.. Tasty for sure though.

"Management" throws off bit of a cultish vibe though, they won't actively be trying to recruit you, but you will have to sit through their ceremonies and things and if you think you can just stay seated and continue eating your meal and ignore it then maybe you are right but you would have been the only one when I've been then.
