[VIC] 10w LED Portable Battery Powered Work Light Half Price $14.99 @ ALDI (Chirnside Park)

100

4400mah lithium ion battery
USB recharge
Up to 7hrs runtime
800lm

The light is focused about 120 degrees, the unit looks rugged and has a tripod mount and USB power outlet

Update
In my usual tradition, I voided the warranty a few milliseconds after getting home.
It has 2 18650 cells in 1s2p configuration, current draw is 1.8a at full brightness and 900ma at low brightness.

Not quite 10w but it will be really useful for what I need.

So 2.4 hours at full brightness, 4.8hrs at half brightness.

At chirnside park store.
Can I add more photos? Got pics of the inner guts

Which Aldi? I suspect its only at a few stores?

  • "work light" to me implies something a lot brighter, like 8000 lumens, not 800.

10W is OK for a spotlight, but very dim for a wide-angle lamp like this.

With such a small battery, expect a bit over an hour at 10W.

So what is it useful for ???

    • Ok - enjoy your 500W Halogen Worklight, be happy with it mate

      • A 100W LED worklight is good too, (if expensive) but the ALDI one is a Fischer & Price toy.

I don't understand why you're so critical of this.

This is cheap and useful, a good bargain.

It's a portable lightweight floodlight. You wouldn't want a 100w LED lamp illuminating a small area that you're working on, eg under a car or when you're looking up the footwell into the dash or between seats or a million other uses

        • @bm:

It is closer to a night-light than a "work light" or "flood lamp" :-)
Maybe my eyes are just getting old. My kids don't seem to mind reading in very dim light.
But when I'm doing renovations, I need a nice bright light to spot any defects.

    • Under 'product details' it says 'Portable - No'. The name of the product is Arlec 500w Portable halogen Worklight lol

Also the Aldi one is battery so you can carry it around unlike the Arlec you linked. Depends on what you need i guess

  • These are also on eBay for around $30. Did they have rectangular cob light or just the round version?

    • Round light. Also it's a 90 degree beam, not 120 like I said before.
