Yea … there is always a risk buying from un known dealers.
I ended up calling Officeworks and got 5% price beat. Slightly dearer taking into account the cashback, but at least it will be local stock for sure.
When you called Officeworks, did you just mention this Amazon deal then they price beat?
Yes. Got 256 GB model for $1,367
@step_andy: Just called up and got told they don't price beat Amazon, Ebay, Dick Smith or Kogan :(
@shuss2: called up local store or head office?
Called OW just now on 1300 OFFICE (1300 633 423), mentioned Amazon, they found the page and said that they don't match Myphonez or likes :(
I just got the price match confirmation from Officeworks as well for $1367.05.
Tbh, it's all down to luck. Just be really nice and polite on the call, you never know if the person who answers if feeling generous compared to the previous operator.
I tried a couple of times.
The main thing is to let them know that when you search model number MQA92X/A from the Officeworks website in Amazon Australia website, it comes up with this deal. It's not clear why the search option gives you this result but it worked for me.
Also travelling next weekend to Japan so after TRS, I doubt I can find anything cheaper than this even after a few months.
That's great! I'd also like to know what the final figure was for Officeworks. When I called them, they added in shipping cost.
Edit: I called OW again and spoke with someone else. They price beat with no added shipping cost. $1367.05. I'm travelling next month, so after TRS claim the total price will be down to $1217. Happy days.
Did you speak to anyone in particular? I pressed option 3 and the guy told me he can't price match Amazon.
@shuss2: I spoke with different people each time. The second time I emphasised that it’s Amazon.com.au and gave them the actual URL.
Apparently many people have reported the phones are UAE stock
Can you list one person that has claimed this?
Warning: the ebay reviews of this seller indicate the iphones are not aus stock, but from the UAE. Some received phones that were second hand, and some that were pre-opened.
The closest I could find was this comment ^^^, yet looking through their reviews I couldn't find any comments about the iphone x being UAE stock.
If it is UAE stock then absolutely steer clear and they used to be hardwired to remove features. Despite this, maybe these are just rumours flying around. I would love to hear whether these rumours are true or just gossip
Sorry I can't name anyone. I based my comment on other ppl's comments in the other threads, and a quick look at their eBay feedback. That's why I wrote "apparently" as I wasn't sure. But yeah you're right, probably better to steer clear =)
I fail to see the bargain here?
Bargain if you don’t want to pay $2049 for equivalent Xs just released. Very similar real world specs, just be careful the seller reputation.
Discounted? Discontinued?
Irrationally expensive for an end-of-production item.
Says 100% Australian Stock
Surely they would have to be the case if they advertise it as such!
wonder if it will get cheaper next week when the XS comes out?
Need to buy my wife a new phone, she doesnt want the exorbitantly expensive XS, so looking for a new X.
the RRP has already dropped
its 1479 / 1729 now
$150 less than the new model doesnt really seem like a 'drop'.
Where are you seeing this price? Haven't seen them cheaper than 1500 (other than ebay)
RRP at authorised Apple resellers
Deal hasn't expired, they just jacked price up to $1,559.00
wait a month for an XR, newer, better, faster, fewer pineapples.
Is the seller the same seller for these previous threads?:
