If you never played the Xbox 360, then I'd recommend considering an Xbox One S/X for the backwards compatibility. There's also Xbox Game Pass and EA Access which are great 'Netflix for games' subscriptions for new owners.
What is your budget?
PS4 has amazing exclusives eg. Spider-Man, infamous, Detroit become human, etc. , Xbox One x is a much more powerful console than the PS4 pro, and also has game pass (which is great imo) and ea access where you pay a monthly fee for free games. Nintendo switch is best for the exclusives and portability. If you travel a lot, or have quite a few friends over and want to play some party games, the switch is great.
For pricing Xbox one x would be on the pricey side. Followed by PS4 pro and switch. A few recent deals I’ve seen on ozb I’ve seen is around $550 for the x, $450 for PS4 pro and $399 for switch.
Hope this helps :)
Xbox has a solid library with backwards compatibility. The S is also the cheapest console while the X is the most powerful.
Playstation has a good number of exclusives and most current gen Xbox games. The Pro also has option for VR although there aren't many titles.
Nintendo Switch is quite different to its competitors, being less powerful but its main selling point is portability. It has Nintendo exclusives like Mario, Zelda, etc. so if you're a fan of these consider this.

ALL of THEM.
None of the above.
PC games are best!
Exactly
OP we really need to know what games you like playing before assisting you with your decision.
Personally I recommend the Xbox one because of the backwards compatibility with many Xbox 360 and even some original Xbox games. Also because forza horizon series is really good (note: horizon, not Motorsport). My partner used to only play ps4, but now that he has an Xbox one he hardly touches the ps4.
Switch is good, but games are sooooooo expensive.
Hi Guys, Thanks a lot for great feedback. I am looking to play games as well as experience some indoor games (Kinect? I hope xbox X has this feature..like multiplayer virtual games if tenus etc?). Price is not an issue if quality and experience will be good but any bargain will be always great. Thanks guys!
Unfortunately Xbox got rid of kinnect unless you find a 360. The closest thing might be a Wi or a wi uni (I think that was the last model) with the sensors and the remotes. You'd be able to pick that up fairly cheap on gumtree/ebay or egames (my memory is messed today, but you see them in most big shopping centres)
If yr not wanting the physicality of things but still wanting to play with others, Xbox one can be good. You could pick up the one s 1T with a few games for around 350 I'm guessing.
Xbox are adding lots of games via game pass/Gold that are backwards compatible, so for about $7 a month if you buy a yearly pass you can play 200 games for free. Many of these are multilayer which means you can play remotely or in the same room against others.
I'm only talking about Xbox because it's what I've got; others can offer more advice on the other platforms and suitability. My friend said to me when I was buying, think about what games you want to play, who you want to play them with, and if you want to play the latest games (which increased the cost). Hope that helps.
The Wii U is discontinued but is backwards compatible with the Wii and Gamecube, it also features numerous interactive games with the gamepad and in the form of Wii remote controllers.
The Switch has Joy-Cons, these are also interactive controllers. The Switch is primarily focused around portability, but has a docking station to connect to a TV.
The PlayStation 4 and PS4 Pro has a VR headset option, you slap the headset and you can you remotes in each hand to interact with.
The XBox One ecosystem no longer actively supports interactive gaming such as Kinect anymore, the Kinect as a product failed. If you want access to Kinect games you'll need to find a Kinect and a Kinect adapter, however, 360 Kinect games are not compatible, so your library is quite limited.
My suggestion is Wii U, which is low cost, with a Motion Plus controller and access to a large library of interactive games. If you are interested, the unit can be hacked.
If you still have money to burn, a PC with Virtual Reality headset and controllers are awesome.
Tenus= Tennis* sorry for typo
Hi Guys,
Thisis my extended post from yesterday's post.I am planning to setup ultimate gaming environment at home for family.
My plan is as follows:
Choose best gaming device, please suggest Xbox one X? Playstation 4 Pro? Nintendo? Where to buy or wait for best deal ?
75 inch plus 4K2K SMART TV? Where to buy and best and good brand with great price?
I will also use this setup to develop games in future.
As usual any constructive feedback will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks Heaps.
How about a soundbar for the TV?
Hisense 75P7 the successor to last year's 75N7 ozbargains favorite TV.
When is this Hisense Tv deal coming up again any idea?
The sales leading up to Christmas.
There's unlikely to be any good boxing Day sales, though last year the GG (I believe it was) had LG's 2017 55in OLED TV for $1500, an absolute bargain.
Is this the best deal at the moment??
Yes
PS4 has many more exclusives that are great games so I would recommend buying a PS4 Pro.
But you should consider what your friends use as well so you can play multiplayer with them.
